Yet another bottle from the Georgia Crew, Tom and Larry, sampled in May of ’06. Deep black colored with a decent brown head. Smattering of lace. Full bodied. Richly roasted grains, chocolate and a bit of smoke in the nose. Deep roasted coffee, ample bitterness and more that a hint sourness which detracts a bit. Decently done, the lactic sourness knocks this down point or two.

LCRBM2. Black with dark beige head. Really nice dark malts, charcoal too. Intense in mouth, bit sour. Liquid smokey charcoal. Smooth though.

Very dark, almost black coloured with a small off-white creamy head. Very strong roasted coffee-caramel aroma. Strong sweet roasted body. With a strong bitter roasted malty coffee finish. A very nice imperial stout

LCRBM2: Black, opague. Coffeearoma. Coffee and caramel in the flavor. Lots of coffee. Sweetened coffee. But good coffee.

[2nd Low Countries RateBeer meeting] Aroma consists of coffee.. Real coffee! Black coloured with a brown head. Taste is sweet with some bitterness, coffee, some chocolate, roasted malts, black currant. Some bitterness in the finish. This stuff is good!

Bottled. What a aroma! Even coffee itself doesn’t smell as much of coffee as this beer! Black color, brown head, good lace. Sweet, blackcurrant, roasted coffee, light bitter. Sticky and a sandy finish.

2005 bottle, from HogTownHarry; nose of chocolate, vanilla, and a little smoke; opaque brown with red edges and a tiny tan head; flavor different than I expected from the nose, I expected more complexity; flavor was a lot of coffee and smoke, with a spicy finish. Decent but not great!

2005 bottle. Extremely black motor oil pour. Frothy brown head that leaves and turns into a creamy tan ring. Aroma has sweet roasty fruit. Initial taste is slightly soured and charred wood. Figgy burnt chocolate. Warms up nicely. Pretty well put together... nice sipping beer... could be more complex but its good as is.
