It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.
Ingredients: Water, pale ale malt, caramel malt, aromatic malt, sugar, yeast, Kent hop, hallertau hop.

Scotch Silly has a thin, fizzy, off-white head, and a milk-chocolate brown appearance, with rather large tan chunks suspended throughout. The aroma is of sweet, rich, pungent, brandywine, and dark bread. The flavor is equally rich, with even a strange or interesting citrus aspect in the back-taste. Bitterness is low, and sweetness is high. Mouthfeel is between medium and heavy, and Scotch Silly finishes not so dry and delicious. Booziness is not an issue with this beer. Just a great, great beer! RJT

Bottle. Poursdark amber with a medium white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, sweet. Taste: malt, caramel, dark fruits. Medium body and carbonation, rather sweet finish with a little warming alcohol. Very good and drinkable beer even for a fan of bitter beers like me.

Appearance: clear red / brown with a medium sized off-white head that marks the glass nicely. Aroma: malty, bready, some coffee-like notes but very subtle. A lot of caramel, and I think I smell a small sour note, typical for some belgian ales. Also it has a delicate touch of dust, and maybe some roastiness, but again - theyíre very subtle. Taste: very sweet. Toffee, caramel, a bit roastiness and a little bit fruity. A small, almost untraceable alcohol note in the background. Mild alcohol bitterness. Moutfeel: full bodied, soft carbonation. Overall: a very enjoyable beer, although itís not my favourite style.

Sweet dried fruit mixed with smoke, peat and a little wooden barrel taste. Pours cola crown with immediate abundant foamy head. Smooth despite the high ABV. A sipper, but very pleasant.

Visual: Pours translucent cola brown, smallish dissipating head, thin ringed retention, lots of steady streams, the last few drops from the bottle are cloudy. Nose: caramel malts, molasses (5/10-pungency) Attack: intense caramel, creamy mouthfeel Mid-palate: sustained creaminess, caramel-(9/10)-sweetness, (MAIN) caramel malts, brown sugar, mild roast Finish: sustained sweetness, alcoholic hit + astringency, malty bittersweet heavy finish. Summary: The first half is full-bodied and decent. The latter half becomes overly sweet and leaves astringent bitterness similar to if you licked the peel of a pomelo fruit (Chinese grapefruit). Itís above average, but not breaking the 3/5 barrier.

Pours a dark ruby (or light brown) color with an average slightly tan head. The aroma is a combination of some roasty smell, some dusty aroma and slight nuts. Also a slight alcohol smell (scotch!). The taste is not really strong nor is too weak. It starts with a slight caramel and roasted coffee taste. Itís pretty bitter and quite strong, although still quite easy to drink. Nice.

Bottle 0,33L. Dark, ruby-brown clear colour with small light brown, creamy head. Strong aroma of dark coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, caramel and brown sugar. Fully, rich mouthfeel, bitter-sweet in the begining of the sip, than turns into moderate bitter with strong chocolate note. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation and medium alcohol finish. Most caramely beer, Iíve ever had.

Drank with Masum in Kandinsky. Sweet beer. Indeed hints of scotch. Tastes a bit like a barrel aged beer. Nice!

Very nice and refreshing take on a Scotch ale. Love the wine-like vinous nature of this port barrel offering!

On tap. Pours muddy amber with very little head. Distant aroma of brown sugar and some dark fruits. Taste is sweet sugary little boozy. Medium bodied mouthfeel with a nice carbonation tingle. Not very clean. N
