4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
mahogany colour, huge light brwonish head; aroma of roasted sugar/malt, some yeast, wood, and hints of dried fruits; taste is dominated by brown sugar and roasted maltyness with some wood and yeast again; for me, it’s more like a belgian strong ale than a scotch ale; anyway, really good

33 cl bottle. Opaque orange brown, foamy tan head settles and lingers. Sweet malty boozy fruity aroma. Sweet toasted caramel malt taste, fruity and syrupy, some underlying yeast funk. Soft carbonation, light-medium body, low hopped. Sours a bit as it warms. A little boozy and cloying towards a warm finish. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Smell is very subtle in the bottle, much more pronounced in the glass. Pours thick with just a little head. Dark amber almost light brown. Can barely see light through it. Starts off bold (almost like a wine) but not bitter, with a light finish.

Smell of sweet roasty malts, but also fresh spices. Dense light brown head, dark red-brown colour.
Taste of ripe fruits, roasted malts. A bit yeasty. Very sweet with an oily texture, fresh/sour finish. Medium bodies.
Looks/smells better than it tastes.
