COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.
Ingredients: Water, pale ale malt, caramel malt, aromatic malt, sugar, yeast, Kent hop, hallertau hop.

Tastes like the Belgian wheaty / floral twist on a Scotch Ale. Nice bitterness on the end but I found the slight perfume notes a bit too much for my liking. Definitely a style worth trying though.

Molasses, treacle nose. Cloudy brown, medium yellow head. Sweet horehound flavor that fades to a wisp of buttery smoke. Toffee-like treacle note at midpalate. Distinctive and probably pairs well with shortbread or Philadelphia butter cake. Absolutely delicious.

Serving: 330 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a hazy reddish color with a large off white head. Malty nose with a hint of dried fruit. Caramel, brown sugar, and dark fruit flavor. Rather sweet from start to finish.

Flasche (33 cl). - Dunkles Kastanienbraun.

I’ve very much enjoyed ’scotch’ for a long time. I was first introduced to it by Michael Jackson in his TV series, when he asks for a ’scotch at the end of a meal. Like a good Scottish ale with a Belgian twist, complimenting both but sitting as neither in the absolute. This a beautiful rich full flavoured beer, perhaps a little sweet for some, but perfect for others. Perfect to enjoy after a meal!

Mouais...

Bottle in the Bierbrasserie, Brugges. Cloudy chestnut beer with a thin white head. Quite fruity and sweet. Very pleasant.

Small bottle. Pours very dark with moderate tan head. Caramel on the nose. Sweet caramel in the mouth, with some fruit in there somewhere. Suggestive of raisins more than anything. A sweet, dark ale, but with subtle fruity overtones that make it rather interesting. Nice.
