COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.
Ingredients: Water, pale ale malt, caramel malt, aromatic malt, sugar, yeast, Kent hop, hallertau hop.

Sometimes i get the feeling that the Belgians do Scotch ales better than the Scots, and this beer pretty much proves my point. Has that rich , lightly peaty caramel/toffee sweetness of a statndard Scottish Ale, but combine it with Belgian yeastyness and it seems to work really well and is definitley more interesting, a little more spicy than your regular scotch ale aswell, nice drop.

Murky dark orange with a rocky off-white head. Deep rich caramel aroma with dark fruits and bready yeast tones. Ends slightly sweet with some sour and acidic tones that really didn't do it for me. Did they really want the beer to taste this way? Crazy Belgians.

Deep hazy brown with a nice thick head. Rich aroma-winey and malty. Sweet at first with a bit of a salty-sour flavor, but soon mellows into a smooth, short buttery malt finish. It's a beer that hides the alcohol well and turns out to be very satisfying.

well carbonated, ruby/copper body. Big, loose, light brown head. alcohol, scotch, dry salty, kind of winey. feels good! peaty, salty. alcohol noted throughout. dries out well following smooth, full mouth. fairly metallic though

Bottled, at the Dovetail, London.
Brown with a slightly cloudiness to it. Sweet malty aroma that correlates pretty much to the flavour. Looks like a Belgian double. Easy drinking, middle of the road beer.

nice malty aroma, dark red with a big head, weak body, metallic, sweet peaty malt presence, some mossy flavors and a slight alcohol presence

Dark red. Aroma is smooth winter fruits. Flavours are sultanas, caramel, and grain. Has a nice foam in the mouth palate. OK.

Deep reddish brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and slightly bready, and with earthy malts. Sweet flavor with brown sugar and syrup. Very robust at first but it thins and becomes much more mild. And the finish slightly dry. Not a bad beer. I'd drink this one again. It's like a stotch ale and a belgian beer combined.

Very differnt. A yeasty but yet very malty beer. The malts are very chewy yet it has a light mouth feel. I love the fact that this beer runs at 8%, and hides it very well.
