It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.
Ingredients: Water, pale ale malt, caramel malt, aromatic malt, sugar, yeast, Kent hop, hallertau hop.

Zythos Beer Festival, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium 2005. Red-brown colour with a baige head. Sweet spicy caramel malty aroma and a sweet malty bitter taste. Medium to full body and a sweet light alcoholic finish.

Pours a brown color with ruby highlights and a thick offwhite head. Subtle aroma of fruits (green raisin?), caramel, spices and yeast. Flavor of roasted malt, fruits, caramel and yeast. Light to medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. It’s ok but I had higher expectations so it feels like a letdown.

A nice beer with a good malt profile. A peated malt nose with agood moacha and rosted toffee follow on. Good depth and balance on the palate some passionfruit and cndy sugar probably turbinado and plums with ahint of dried raisins.

Aroma is vinous and fruity with pitted dried fruits. Subtle smokiness as well as a small sweet aroma. Mild musty cobwebs. Garnet amber color thats slightly cloudy with a nice foams light tan head with decent staying power. Dry dry dry. Bitter to start turning moderately smokey with a weird sweet/cobweb/funkiness to finish. Finishes thin and dry. This is way too funky for my liking. Needs more of the smoke notes and an oilier body to be a decent scotch.

Darker brown, tan head. Sweet, malty, with notes of brown sugar, moolasses and maple. Very light bitterness rounds things out nicely. Fuller bodied. Very good. Thanks OKBeer.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish copper color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is very malty and sweet, brown sugar and yeast with notes of dark, ripe fruit. Flavor is also sweet - almost syrupy - hints of maple add to this perception, but it’s balanced a bit by a noticible yet mild hoppiness. Medium to full body and gentle, creamy carbonation. Very enjoyable.
