COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.
Ingredients: Water, pale ale malt, caramel malt, aromatic malt, sugar, yeast, Kent hop, hallertau hop.

Perfekt balans, mogen men fortfarande kraften kvar. Lite kort eftersmak. Riktigt gott.

Dark red body with a small off white head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel, brown sugar, melon. Quite sweet malty flavour with almonds, brown sugar, syrup, bread, licorice and spices. Quite nice.

750ml served in a Duvel Tulip. A - Pours a dark and clear garnet with 2 fingers of stern khaki foam that retains very well forming a thin cap. A few round dots of lacing. S - Lots of fruit, plums, raisins, fruit cake, sweet malt, some spicy alcohol, T - Loads of caramel/toffee malts, apple brandy, vanilla, brown sugar, very sweet up front, brown bread crust, figs, cherries, apples, plums, dried bananas, sticky raisins, woody alcohol, spicy yeast. Finishes with a tea tannin bitterness. M - Very smooth and creamy feel, low carbonation, Wow! This was very good! Kind of like a Dubbel meets Scotch Ale. Very fruity with a dense malt backbone that had a woody alcohol edge to it. Great feel and I enjoyed every sip. I’m gonna pick up a few of these for Christmas/winter. Serving type: bottle 09-27-2012

Dark brown, medium carbonation. Sweet beer with notes of caramel and dark fruit. A bit unbalanced. Bitter sweet finish.

Shared with my dad. Pours brown with tan head. Some lacing. Smells of dark fruits and toffee. Tastes of dried dates, raisins with a long finish with some bitterness. A sweet scotch ale with classic flavors from Belgium.

330ml bottle at Abbot’s Ale House. Pours a hazy dark ruby with a thin head. Aroma is pretty vile manure hints, with a slightly nicer grassy, woody chocolatiness behind it. Taste is a medium sweetness and light sourness. Quite a creamy chocolatey finish. Quite tasty, despite its overwhelmingly off-putting aroma.

Very interesting take on a wee heavy by a Belgian brewery! Lovely amber pour with generous head. Lighter fruits, nuts, caramel on the aroma, and in the taste too, some lingering sweetness, but a solid, well-made beer.

Dark amber, almost brown, with a cream-colored head and nice lace. Dark fruit aromas, accompanied by roasted malt, caramel, and subtle yeast. Caramel sweetness up front, with dark fruit, brown sugar and a hint of alcohol. Medium body, minimal carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and a lingering pleasant rich malt sweetness.
