COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.
Ingredients: Water, pale ale malt, caramel malt, aromatic malt, sugar, yeast, Kent hop, hallertau hop.

Pours hazy dark brown. Boozy raisiny nose. Same flavor but slightly dry with a sweet finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

mine was so cloudy you couldn’t see any light through it...more like an unfiltered apple cider. the smell was nice and sweet, an so was the taste, but i didn’t get any peat malt aspects. outside of the sweetness (which i liked), there was a heavy coppery taste and a slightly astringent finish. I don’t know if i got a bottle past it’s peak, but i won’t be back."

Silly is one of the last breweries in Belgium which still brews an old school Scotch (a genre once more popular in Belgium than in Scotland but now usually considered obsolete) ànd dares to effectively call it that, as it is my theory that Belgium still has dozens of Scotch beers ’in disguise’, not in the least many of the Christmas ales. This one has a pretty bronze colour under a light beige head and a very malty aroma, caramelly and nutty, with brown sugar, raisins, chocolate, estery fruitiness and liquorice, and a gentle roasted bitterness in the finish. I enjoyed this a lot and consider it a classic in its style - at least of the ones which are actually still called ’Scotch’, and those can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Mooi robijnrood. Zoete geur en smaak, erg fruitig. Wel lekker, maar met sterke nasmaak. Grappige combi.

Bottle. Reddish-brown with a small head. Aroma of caramel, candy sugar, overripe fruits, yeast and alcohol. Taste - very sweet and malty, dried fruits, caramel, brown sugar, light roast, toffee and alcohol. Medium body, light-medium carbonation, sticky and syrupy, should be drank with a small sips and not too chilled. Not bad, some interesting nuances in taste, though too sweet and alcoholic to fully enjoy it.

Bottle 330ml. Clear brown with low quickly diminishing off-white head. Yeasty aroma, notes of cherry and honey date, alcoholic. Too sweet malty flavor, yeasty, notes of cherry, syrup, raisins, very alcoholic. Almost no carbonation. Medium to full body. Sweet alcoholic aftertaste.
