COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.
Ingredients: Water, pale ale malt, caramel malt, aromatic malt, sugar, yeast, Kent hop, hallertau hop.

Aroma is decidedly Belgian with raisin notes. Pours dark amber with very little head. Taste is Belgian with raisin notes and finishes smooth with slightly peaty finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a reddish brown with a light tan head. Aroma is malty and the taste is as well. Smooth start and finish.

Scotch Silly has a thin, fizzy, off-white head, and a milk-chocolate brown appearance, with rather large tan chunks suspended throughout. The aroma is of sweet, rich, pungent, brandywine, and dark bread. The flavor is equally rich, with even a strange or interesting citrus aspect in the back-taste. Bitterness is low, and sweetness is high. Mouthfeel is between medium and heavy, and Scotch Silly finishes not so dry and delicious. Booziness is not an issue with this beer. Just a great, great beer! RJT

Hazy brown, thin white head, full body, medium carbonation.

Aroma: tons of sweet toffee caramel malt.

Taste: loads of sweet caramel nutty malt.

Only plays one note, but it’s a good one, and it’s played well.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2006 Excellent copper colour with a really rocky and creamy head. This has a sticky date pudding nose with a hint of peatiness. The taste is mouthfilling and very smooth, like chocolate velvet. While the outside temperature is around the 35C mark, and therefore not scotch ale weather, I am imagining what this will be like in winter. Beautiful balance and smoother than many of its competitors. The McChouffe springs to mind but this one beats it.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2007 (Bottled) Deep, hazy, dark ruby color with a large, foamy and lacy head. Very grainy-malty, sweet and toffeeish aroma with (straw)berries. Something between a barley wine and scotch ale. Sweet, very malty, dried-fruity, creamy toffee flavor with berries, some roastiness, and a mildly bitter finish. Hides the ABV completely. Full-bodied, sugary-sweet, oily, low-carbonated palate. Sweet, sure, but also a very balanced and extremely enjoyable dessert drink. Warming in the coldest winter, while still refreshing in the summer. The Silly brewery is just awesome!

Bottle. Nice dark amber colour with large off-white head. Very nice aroma of sweet caramel, malts, dark fruits, butter, sugar. Same elements in the taste. Full bodied creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol well hidden ’till the finish. Excellent.
