32oz growler tasted during RBSG. Mildly hazy red / brown color. Thin ring of khaki head. Couple ropes and bits of lace. Nutty in the nose, like a brown ale. Light spice, some earthy bitterness. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Solid brown ale.

Growler… RBSG 2014… Hazy mahogany pour with flashes of copper and a small, creamy, off-white head. The bouquet is an assortment of figs, dates and other dark, dried, sugary fruits. Full-bodied with lazy carbonation. The flavor presents a blend of chocolate, caramel and toasted tree nuts, followed by a modest measure of lingering bitterness.

Growler @ Bus. Dark caramel/chestnut colored pour with a khaki head. Lots of licorice and cocoa aromas. A hint of ash, some earthy and floral hops, and caramel malts. Flavor is lightly bitter. Fair amount of molasses and caramel sweetness. Some floral hops, a bit of ash, and a bunch of cocoa. Decent anise character. Just okay.

Howler RBSG 2014: Deep amber hue with a small fading off white head. Very nutty, caramel, floral, malty and a bit minerally. Sweet and malty without being cloy. Faint coffee like bitterness. Smooth soft carbonated mouth feel with a dry finish. Neato to have try once.

This is clear brown with a small white head. This reminds me of a schwartzbier. It is toasty malt in the nose and lots of roasted chocolate comes out once it’s tasted. It is dry but mild bitterness implies sweetness. This is really tasty and subtle. Well done.
