3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours from the 12 oz. bottle a cola-like brown color with a 1 1/2 finger light tan head that settles into a medium collar. I can’t get a read on what kind of bubble action is going on in the darkness. Aroma is of sweet, dark berries. 1st sip is of dark fruit, but it is much drier than the aroma. Mouthfeel is light and on the watery side. Overall, a rather mediocre beer. Victory Moonglow is my benchmark for weizenbocks, and this isn’t close to being in the same league.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From a bottle. Pours caramel brown with a creamy tan head. Tastes like roasted grains, malty, burnt coffee. Light body and low carbonation. Smells malty, nutty, and like dried fruit.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
11/2/2011. 22 oz. bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt aromas with spices, yeast and hints of chocolate. The malt and spice combination is what gets me every time drinking a weissbier - and I’m just not motivated for that style.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a thin head on a dark, dark brown colored body.
The aroma is a rich malt, caramel and a little lemon zest.
The taste is malty sweet forward, molasses in the middle and finishes with a mild bitter note.
The texture is a little sticky with low to moderate carbonation.
An enjoyable sipper.

4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from bomber to glass. Great, dark color with a slight ruby hue. Thick, tan head and left lots of lace to decorate the glass. I didn’t pick up crisp citrus aroma as listed by the brewer. It was a tad sweet with coffee/bitter aftertaste. Medium viscosity, above average essence of alcohol. I pulled it out of a fridge at 37deg but as it warmed to room temp the flavor and mouthfeel was enhanced. It was a real enjoyable beer. I’ll be drinking again, for sure. A bit of discrepancy on style (per BA), listed as Weisenbock. Brewer’s site states Dunkelweiss.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark, barely translucent sepia with a fairly thick light tan head. Robust aroma has a malty, slightly smoky core and firm notes of cloves and caramel. Malty flavor delights with caramel, cloves and subtle woody hop notes plus more than a hint of fruit - apple, plus a little cherry. Smooth texture has only a little fizz and is fair in firmness. Scuttlebutt has it that this will keep you warm - but seriously.
