Pours a thin head on a dark, dark brown colored body. The aroma is a rich malt, caramel and a little lemon zest. The taste is malty sweet forward, molasses in the middle and finishes with a mild bitter note. The texture is a little sticky with low to moderate carbonation. An enjoyable sipper.

650ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves only a few specks of lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark fruits with chocolate and with hints of citrus. Taste is a big dark fruit and malty sweetness with a light citrus and grass hop bitterness. Medium bodied with modest carbonation. Overall, a little hoppier than most dunkels, but still suits the style well and I recommend this to others.

[7100-20150304] 12floz bottle. Mild grainy roast aroma. Murky, dark brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Grainy slightly soured malt and roasted woody fruit flavour. Medium body. Average. (7/3/8/3/14) 3.5

22 Oz bottle poured. Pours a really dark reddish brown color with a big foam head and lace. Woody aroma with some roasted malt and dark fruit. Brown sugar and cinnamon flavor, and some nice toasted flavor finish. I enjoyed this one. Grows on me. Ton of flavor. Great beer.

2015-03-04. Murky brown body with a small white head. 3+ Aroma of muddled toasty roasty malt. Flavour is similar, sweetish malt core with some sweet sugary notes, light toasty malt. Some wheat touches if you look for it. Average body bodied palate, soft carbonation. Bottle shared by solidfunk.

Easy drinking and good enough for the style from what I know from my weak experience drinking dunkelweizens. Dark amber pour with OK head and lacing. Bottle from total wine.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2015 Bottle courtesy of solidfunk, thanks! Cloudy amber brown color, bright tan head. Aroma of roasty caramel. Taste is sweetish. Caramel. Interesting.

Off balanced with a lot of hops and a watery taste. I'm starting to wonder if a beer doesn't have a certain amount of hops on the West Coast, it's not beer. Getting grapefruit, honey, this is a train wreck. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My first beer rating in a while. On tap at Hops Northwest in New Westminster. Served in a large snifter, which is a nice touch. A very dark, not quite black beer with moderate carbonation. A chocolate note on the nose. Chocolate predominates on the tastebuds, with a faint fruity note. Sweet and rich. Body is medium, finish is sweet and lingering. I find many dunkels a bit weak, and this is the perfect remedy. 3.9.
