Porter? I would have to disagree. It tastes closer to a bock than anything, imo. Anyways This beer produces an aroma and flavor that just ooze caramel malts, much like a lager from Germany. Overall nothing spectacular, but not bad. Just alright.

Bomber. Clear deep dark copper brown, persistent creamier tan foam settles. Aroma of dark roast wit malt and caramel. Taste is darker roasted wit malt, sweet caramel and milky chocolate, some dark fruitiness and light earthy hop. Softer carbonation, smooth medium body. Nice. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Murky darker amber color, small head, some lace/retention. Aroma is big caramel, some wheat, banana. Medium bodied, quite drinkable.

From a bottle. Pours caramel brown with a creamy tan head. Tastes like roasted grains, malty, burnt coffee. Light body and low carbonation. Smells malty, nutty, and like dried fruit.

Bottle. Pours cola brown with creamy tan head. Aroma is cookie and bready malts, toffee, light roast, fig, dates, and some nuttiness. Flavor is dry malts, light roast, light earthy bitterness, and some dark fruit esters; dry finish with some roast. Medium body and carbonation.

11/2/2011. 22 oz. bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt aromas with spices, yeast and hints of chocolate. The malt and spice combination is what gets me every time drinking a weissbier - and I’m just not motivated for that style.

Deep dark brown color when poured. Malt flavors and a little bitter coffee aftertaste.

Pours a thin head on a dark, dark brown colored body. The aroma is a rich malt, caramel and a little lemon zest. The taste is malty sweet forward, molasses in the middle and finishes with a mild bitter note. The texture is a little sticky with low to moderate carbonation. An enjoyable sipper.

Poured from bomber to glass. Great, dark color with a slight ruby hue. Thick, tan head and left lots of lace to decorate the glass. I didn’t pick up crisp citrus aroma as listed by the brewer. It was a tad sweet with coffee/bitter aftertaste. Medium viscosity, above average essence of alcohol. I pulled it out of a fridge at 37deg but as it warmed to room temp the flavor and mouthfeel was enhanced. It was a real enjoyable beer. I’ll be drinking again, for sure. A bit of discrepancy on style (per BA), listed as Weisenbock. Brewer’s site states Dunkelweiss.

Tap at Popeye, Tokyo. Black colour with a small off-white head. Chocolate, caramel aroma. Bland chocolate flavour with some dried fruits.

Pours a dark, barely translucent sepia with a fairly thick light tan head. Robust aroma has a malty, slightly smoky core and firm notes of cloves and caramel. Malty flavor delights with caramel, cloves and subtle woody hop notes plus more than a hint of fruit - apple, plus a little cherry. Smooth texture has only a little fizz and is fair in firmness. Scuttlebutt has it that this will keep you warm - but seriously.
