Delirium (439), Santa Cruz, California, USA Aug 18, 2006 Bottle. Pours moderately dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is fairly weak, mildly of caramel and maybe hops. Flavor is similar, with a little nuttiness. A bit watery. Not bad, but not good either.
LilBeerDoctor (733), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 16, 2008 Bottle courtesy of scrizzz. Pours a clear amber/orange with a small ring of white head. Aroma of buttery popcorn and sweet malt. Flavor of sweet sugary fruitiness, strawberry, and nice malt. Pretty tasty and drinkable. I’m surprised at these low ratings because this is a good amber! fredandboboflo (717), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 15, 2008 Bottle. Nearly making against the grain with this one I see. Aroma of caramel malt with both overripe and tart fruit tones. Flavor has the same with the addition of a citrus edge and some gritty earth. That gritty earth translates to the pleasant, giving the impression of a leathery coarseness. I rather liked it and was surprised to see it clock in sub-3.0. robforbes (788), Bremerton, Washington, USA Sep 14, 2008 pours a clear amber-red with a small light beige head, some lacing.
smell of caramel, malt, some nuts, few hops.
taste is creamy, caramel, sweet malt, earthy, touch of citrus, some nuts, end is bitter and slightly sour. Skyview (3061), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Sep 2, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in Everett, Washington. Pours a clear golden amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates nearly clean with no lacing or ring. Aroma of light fruity apples, a touch of toffee and citrus zest. Taste has a chalky caramel malt flavor with a hint of roasted nuts, and citrus zest. Finish is slightly semi-sweet with a light malt aftertaste with no bitterness. Overall - an average amber ale. Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 16, 2008 From a 22oz. bottle purchased at By the Bottle--Poured a hazy copper-amber body with a healthy off-white head. Nose was malty, caramel and creamy with a mild hop presence. Flavor was dull cardboard and weak graininess. Very dull. Not a horrible beer, but far from great. One of Scuttlebutt’s worst.
