3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2013 22 oz bomber This is my first from Scuttlebutt. The ale poured a clear golden color with 1 inch head and serious lacing. The aroma of citrus hop was dominate. The citrus hop flavors are the central focus with some malt. The IPA had a thin-to medium body. The carboantion was average. This ale has a nice lingering bitterness that stays in the mouth long after you have consumed the ale. The finish was smooth with a wonderful citrus bitterness. Not bad!

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured from a large bottle into a small glass to sample at a beer tasting. The beer had a semi-clear light orange-rust color with a small, foamy white head that had shorter retention, and moderate cling and lacing. Its aroma featured a mixture of citrus and grainy hops along with some yeast and lemon, and light pine tones, but was underdeveloped overall. Its taste was a bitter citrus-grain blend, with a slight sour grapefruit effect. The beer had a dry, thinner mouthfeel, with low carbonation, and a lighter body which was a bit clingy.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tampa, Fl. - Total Wine - 22 oz bomber. Murky dark orange pour, frothy thick eggshell white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma has just a hint of spruce, some light spearmint. Flavor has some light citrus bitter notes, some graininess, a bit of bready maltiness. Slightly bland and uneventful. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Needs some work.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at CBB. Deep orange to light amber color with a low head. Clear. Tinny, citrus nose, some grass. Light malt flavor, honey, stone fruits, sweet orange. Rather sweet but a nice bitter, peppery finish. Refreshing and drinkable, though not so exciting.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
At the Craft Beer Base IPA event. It poured a nice clear golden color with a thick fluffy head. It had a mild aroma and a nice malty base. The flavor was sweet & spicy and it was well-balanced. Very good sessionable IPA!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from Total Wine-McLean, 2/15/13
Aroma: The nose has some caramel and crystal malts, with a bit of grapefruit, and some light pine hops
Appearance: It pours an unclear orange color with a thin off-white head and some fairly light lace
Flavor: The flavor of this one is mid-bitter with some malts and some plus-residual sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, it is a touch sticky, with plus-carbonation and a dry, slightly off finish
I thought this was an alright beer, but it doesn’t really come together all that well. There’s no major flaw here, thought the "off" finish is probably the most obvious flaw . It’s a fine beer though, and it has a nice, strong hop presence to it.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle - Pours amber with a thin off-white head. Nose is pine, grass, and sweet bready malt. Hops are not pungent at all, so I’m guessing this is an old bottle. Taste is mostly pine and bitter grassiness, with some lightly toasted bready malt in the background. Finishes bitter, but not overly pungent. The whole thing is muted and watery. Medium-thin in the mouth, with a bit of soft carbonation. Not that good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours an amber color with almost no head. Slight hoppiness to it, but much less than I would expect from an IPA. Easy going down, but without the bit of an IPA.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2013
2012-12-22, draught at the brewpub, 6-4-7-3-13=33
Clean golden color with creamy head. The aroma has some caramel, but rather simple, while the caramel flavor is quite good; as many other beers from Scuttlebutt, it has some residual sweetness; good bitterness level, although the hop qualities are moderate, some sturdy resins, maybe Cascade, less fresh character than is expected in WA; the final tends to be just slightly too bitter.
Good, but not exciting.
2012-08-02, bottle from QFC - Seattle (Ballard), 7-4-7-4-14=36
Hazy amber color. Aroma of toffee, cookies, some hops. Good caramel and toffee flavor, a bit toasted, with cake accents; strong bitterness, with a light lemon cookie trait.
A bit heavy on the flavor profile, but nice overall.
