3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Uber. Pours dull burnt yellow with thin head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts with just a hint of hops and some odd funky notes. Taste is big bitter juicy hops, with light citrus and pine notes. Nice caramel malt body that fades quickly into the background next to these hops. Big dominant bitterness. Not top of the class for DIPAs, but excellent for the price. I really had no idea Scuttlebutt could do a beer this good.

22 oz bomber. Pours a golden/amber color. Decent lacing. Aroma has a sweet hoppiness to it, some grassy notes. Flavor is sweet, with pineapple hop notes and a slight malt backbone. Overall, a very drinkable imperial IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle into pint glass. Pours a hazy copper with a big tan head that diminishes real quick, with just a small layer hanging around. Good lacing coats the glass. Smells of citrus: mostly grapefruit and some mango. Same in the taste, with a sweet malt balancing it out. Some alcohol bite as well. Overall a nice double.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint from brewpub. Hazy and hopchunked pour with minimal head. Decent thin lacing from the white froth. Pungent grapefruit and citrus rinde in the nose. Some solvent alcohol in the flavor was the only real flaw. Not a total palate burner either. Some residual caramel sweets and biscuit malt. The keg hops in the glass were a nice exclamation point.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A well balanced citrusy Double IPA. Unspectacularly enjoyable beer
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed relatively fresh, one month after purchase, bottle sent to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt
The look: Cloudy golden-orange body topped by a medium white head with medium retention
In long: Nose of medium intensity is all about citrusy hops, been-there-done-that but never get tired of that type of hoppy aroma. Taste is sweet oranges, some honeyed fortune cookies, bitter white grapefruits, floral and almost soapy notes, residual sugars. Sweetness sensation is medium for the style. The bitterness is sharp but the bitterness level is also only medium for the style. Overall this is a nice big IPA, very easy to drink, not a hop-bomb, not malt heavy, just well balanced. Far from original, but fun to drink nonetheless. It felt good drink a nice IPA like this, I think tonight Iíll drink 6 bombers, because if one bomber of beer can make me good, 6 bombers of beers will make me feel great. Itís just common sense basic math.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml bottle pours golden in color with a finger of white head that left some spotted lacing on the glass. A pleasing hoppy aroma with some hints of cereal grains. Taste is pleasant hoppy bitterness balanced with a healthy dose of malty sweetness. Medium bodied with modest carbonation this is one solid DIPA which I thoroughly enjoyed while on vacation in Washington state.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Poured cloudy medium orange with a sticky white head.. a fair amount of sediment in there. The aroma picked up orange zest and meat over soft bready malts.. almost like a hopped up amber ale. The flavor found orange meat, pale, and bready malts at the core with mostly orange and some sprucey bitterness around.. moderately bitter on the middle, but more bitter and less balanced on the long finish.. nice peppery kick right in the end. Medium-bodied, spicy, and increasingly bitter on the palate.. the flow was a bit disjointed.. overall a decent brew.

WHoa, wayyyyy too boozy for only 8%. Between the alcohol flavor and the stinging bitterness, i can tell you that this beer is not for me. thereís some earthy, pine flavors in there somewhere. Iím so glad that somebody left a bottle of this in the lobby and i didnít pay money for it.
