3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, shared with JJ. Hazy orange amber, thick lacy white head. Very hoppy aroma, lots of conifer, sweet, with nice citrus oil aromatics too. Sweet palate, a little syrupy even, with nice juicy citrus and pine hop character. Certainly a sweeter malt body than many American IIPAs (more like the IIPAs from Charlevoix in Quebec), but I still found it very tasty despite the lower-than-average IBUs.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle pours with a clear copper body that supports a weak white head. The aroma is a mix of sweet malts, floral hops, orange peel and some pine like hoppiness. The taste has plenty of hop bitterness mixing with a modest degree of hop flavor coming from pine, floral, citrus and tropical fruit like hoppiness. Behind the hops is an adequate malt sweetness that is creating a pretty nice body for this beer. It seems the hop profile is going in all directions and pulling itself apart to a certain extent. Plenty of hops here though.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Poured cloudy medium orange with a sticky white head.. a fair amount of sediment in there. The aroma picked up orange zest and meat over soft bready malts.. almost like a hopped up amber ale. The flavor found orange meat, pale, and bready malts at the core with mostly orange and some sprucey bitterness around.. moderately bitter on the middle, but more bitter and less balanced on the long finish.. nice peppery kick right in the end. Medium-bodied, spicy, and increasingly bitter on the palate.. the flow was a bit disjointed.. overall a decent brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle thanks to nuplastikk: pours a clear copper bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet pale caramel malty nose with a touch of tropical fruits and citrusy hops. Starts with pretty good fullness and light malty sweetness with some fruity hop notes and mild bitter balance before a drier bittersweet finish. Could be a little more assertive, but is pretty drinkable.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Total Wines. Deep amber in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Massive, rasping hops, with lemon fruits and an oily edge, before a dry finish. Ok.

12-oz. Pours a crystal clear golden bronze with a dense, creamy white head that sticks around for a while. Lots of spotty lace. Big plastic nose, showing lots of pine and grapefruit as well. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Plastic, shampoo, grapefruit, pine, and caramel on the mid palate. Long resiny finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: † Amberish, hazy, moderate white head, frothy, nice lacing. † Semi-sweet citrus rind nose, slight hop bite. † Even a bit floral. † Citrus peel up front, moderate hop bitterness. † Not much malt there. † This is not an Imperial IPA, at least compared to others. † Maybe a 1Ĺ IPA. † Body and mouthfeel are moderate. † I would prefer to drink Gale Force IPA over this one as this is not malty/heavy/sweet enough for a big IPA. † Not bad, just not what I was hoping for. † Yeah, 1Ĺ IPA for sure.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A well balanced citrusy Double IPA. Unspectacularly enjoyable beer
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed relatively fresh, one month after purchase, bottle sent to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt
The look: Cloudy golden-orange body topped by a medium white head with medium retention
In long: Nose of medium intensity is all about citrusy hops, been-there-done-that but never get tired of that type of hoppy aroma. Taste is sweet oranges, some honeyed fortune cookies, bitter white grapefruits, floral and almost soapy notes, residual sugars. Sweetness sensation is medium for the style. The bitterness is sharp but the bitterness level is also only medium for the style. Overall this is a nice big IPA, very easy to drink, not a hop-bomb, not malt heavy, just well balanced. Far from original, but fun to drink nonetheless. It felt good drink a nice IPA like this, I think tonight Iíll drink 6 bombers, because if one bomber of beer can make me good, 6 bombers of beers will make me feel great. Itís just common sense basic math.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Wow, an assault on the palate all the way ... and I liked it. Ruddy, orange-brown, with a thin but resilient head. The aroma is rich with a thick, acidic syrup. This is certainly a fully-laden drink, muscular body, rich flavors of maple, citrus, grape, pine. Big time beer at a surprisingly low 8.6%. (#5731, 9/12/2014)
