Bottle. Medium-dark brown, avrage tan head. Roasty nose, some chocolate, a little ash. Lightly roasty palate with underlying fruit acids, chocolate, dry minerally finish, light-to-medium bodied. Pretty solid porter, although not big on complexity.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 ExpendableHero (518) - Florida, USA - NOV 25, 2011
Dark cola colored beer with a thin, white head. Weak aromas of coffee, and something smoky. Tastes of bitter, dark coffee, toasted malts, and peat. Very dry, bitter finish. A bit chalky too, this was just serviceable. Not much really, a one dimensional, average porter.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (7143) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 2, 2011
Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours very brown/black with a transient tan head. Aroma is sorta smokey chocolate. Full bodied. Smokey it is, but it is still very chocolate. Pretty smooth. Really outstanding.

Bottle shared by beerboxer. Pours black with a modest tan head and a strong chocolate and coffee aroma. There is a toasty treacle flavor with some chocolate and a dry finish. It all works pretty well.

Bottle. Yet another deep black pour with a very thin, lacing head. Light malty aroma with some smoky oats. Roasty taste. Smokey malt with a light bite of hops. Kind of watered down, but not too bad.
3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 freekyp (1280) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - OCT 5, 2011
Scuttlebutt is a robust thick Porter that remains very drinkable despite its full toasty flavor. At 5.5% this beer is a marvel. Light chocolate notes combine with earthy malt and a hint of fruity tartness. Pours opaque dark brown with a thick resilient tan head. Lots of lacing. A great pairing for a well done steak or buffalo burger.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CampesinoTino (456) - Lake Stevens, Washington, USA - SEP 13, 2011
Bomber. Black with an inch of light brown sea foam head. Aroma is malt, milk chocolate and coffee. The taste is roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate upfront followed by light roast coffee and brown sugar toward the end. Also a mild herbal hops presence in the background. The body is thin with heavy carbonation and a dry, roasty finish. Overall, an average Porter that could use a bit more of a creamy mouthfeel and stronger coffee flavors.
