head disappeared quickly. Not much nose for me, hints of smoke and burnt malt. flavor is slightly sharp and fairly dry. finishes on the safe side of bitter. smokey on the mid and sides of tongue. mild subtle fruit up front. sharpness smooths out with warming. Highly drinkable.

Bomber pours deep darkness with brown edges and thin mocha head. The aroma has an assertive smoke note (that was unexpected to me) to go along with hints of molasses, some chocolate, burnt malts and a bit of wood. Wow, these notes go nicely together. Smells of yum. The taste feels thin but brings in persistent mild smokiness with some burnt malts, roasted malts and a mild astringent malt drying sensation. Nice mildly smoky interpretation. I wasn’t expecting it to be this tasty.

On draught at the brewpub in Everett, Washington. Pours an opaque color brown brew with a creamy beige head that slowly dissipates to a thin film and some spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet oatmeal and chocolate malts, a touch of creme tartar, with some light vanilla. Taste is smooth, very light carbonation with flavors of smoked and roasted dark malts, chocolate, some vanilla and a touch of toffee. Finish is semi-sweet, malty with no bitterness and a hint of coffee aftertaste. A solid porter over all.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with riversideAK (thanks!). Poured a dark brown color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, and buttery. Tastes of roast, caramel, chocolate, and light coffee. The butteriness that was in the aroma was, thankfully, not in the tastes.

Aroma: Butterscotch, vanilla, slightly oaky. Mild for a porter, very sweet smelling.
Flavor: Viney light fruits (grape, apple) up front followed by smoky malts in the mid. Finishes with sweet vanilla butterscotch.
Smooth palate, velvety texture. Nicely restrained bubbly.

My bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- courtesy of gunhaver. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a good size fizzy tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, green hops, some lactic notes, chocolate and mint. Flavour of roasted malt with, again, some lactic notes and chocolate. Moderate dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good stuff.

Courtesy of Acertain. Thank you, Andrew. The aroma is crisply hoppy with a strong note of dark fruits and chocolate. The body is dark brown to black and holds a two finger thick mocha head that is mostly lasting. The fore is mild chocolate, light brown ale like nutty notes, roast and light char notes. Decent if not outstanding.

Bottle (12oz). Shared by blankboy with garthicus. Ruby-black pour, average beige fizzy head. Minty/herbal aroma, dry roast malt and a hint of lactose. Minty light roast taste, lively mouthfeel, quick finish to the malt and a hint of astringency in the finish. Jesus, I’m done tonight!
