Faint aroma of caramel and belgian candi sugar. Golden brown color with no foam. Extremely bitter with completely unbalanced flavors of random fruits, alcohol and burnt caramel. Overall, this has terrible balance and the flavors are all over the place. Not good quality.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange with a very minimal head. Not much aroma but does have some light caramel malt, a hint of banana and biscuit. Tastes more like a malty hefeweizen. Not bad but missing some depth.

Poured from a bottle. Murky orange color, no head. Mild sour aroma. Medium body with a sweet clove flavor and a medium finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. A very basic tripel. On sale for cheap - good value, but not very interesting.

Bottle. Pale pour, white head. Good retention. Grain, Belgian yeast esters, lightly sweet, lightly grainy, lightly bitter, lightly light, but also lightly heavy (in body, thickness).

DuffMan (8628) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 13, 2015
Bottle. Medium golden body with an average white head. Sweet pale malts, spicy estery yeast. Nothing really wrong here, maybe a bit simple, but tripels are just not my favourite style.

(Bottle) Decent, but pretty simple-tasting. I’d be interested in comparing it to New Belgium’s tripel. For a tripel, it’s not great, but for a cheap tripel, it’s not bad at all.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2015 Bought a 6 pack on a whim, was doubtful that an $8 six pack would be a satisfactory Belgian. I was pleasantly surprised. While not as complex as a top quality Belgian, it was very good. very good yeast flavor and aroma. For a bargain Belgium, I?d recommend it.

Draft - Belgian fruity esters, stone fruit and bubblegum.  Clear gold with a decent beige head. Sweet pale malts and fruity esters. Belgian yeast sweet finish.  Basic, but well done.

Pours a light gold color. Thin, white head. Belgian aroma of cloves and cinnamon is present. There’s also hints of bubblegum. This sweet bubblegum aroma leads into a sweeter taste than I expected. The Belgian spiciness is there, but it’s subdued and somewhat underneath a smoother, sweeter (more honey than caramel), beer. Body is just a bit on the thin side. Good but not exactly a traditional Belgian. And if this is really 9% it’s hiding its booze very well.
