COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Newton Pippin apples give structure to this crisp and aromatic dry sparkling cider. Blended with Island grown apples such as Winter Bananas and Sunsets, the result is an aromatic medley of apricot, marzipan and candied orange peel.

750ml purchased at bottleworks. Aroma of Apple and apple skin with a hint of acidity. stupid to say but it looks like sparkling apple juice. very effervescent and beautiful golden color. Tastes of super ripe apples, acidity, apples, apple skins and finishes a little funky. Really complex, subtle and refreshing. Palate is almost cleansing and certainly refreshing. Overall I think i enjoy this cider better than some of the other higher rated ones i’ve tried. Incredibly drinkable for 9.5% abv and something I could drink a bottle of. Not sure I’d want to try a whole bottle of rumrunner/prohibition.

NV (check that: marked July 25 2012-07) 9.5% ABV bottle (I have a feeling these entries need to be merged). Pours with a pale straw yellow body, great clarity, medium white ring with evident carbonation. Some legs. Sweet, fragrant and floral aroma, dates and marzipan, bitter orange peel and rum cakes. Bready and a bit yeasty. Brown sugar and biscuits. A very interesting and fragrant cider. Unique. Orgeat. Flavors of almonds, citrus peel and bright apple. Slight fruit cake like and maderarized. Pretty dry, citrusy, bright. Very unique, great natural balance of sweetness, tannin and acidity. Medium carbonation. Great flavor and complexity.

750, capped with a swingtop. Pours a brilliantly crystal clear pale gold with tons of steadily rising carb, even half an hour or more after pouring. No head, lace, or legs. Big rich crisp green apple nose--I don’t know that I wholly buy the "apricot, marzipan, and candied orange peel" that Sea Cider suggests, but on the other hand I don’t know that I can do better. "Green apples" certainly isn’t a description that does justice to what’s going on here. There’s a lot of layering here, within a complex and balanced whole, both aromatically and on the palate. Crisp light dancingly carbonated mid palate. Bright sharp acidic green apple notes on the mid palate, or maybe that’s apricot, marzipan, and candied orange peel--that actually might be a pretty decent anchor descriptor. The finish has acid and crispness to it, but a bit of sugar too. This is a pleasure to drink, with real depth and complexity. First bottle I have had, so it might or might not always be like this, but this one’s worth hitting again and again, and would work really well with food, too. Kind of a sweet spot in terms of ABV--can work well in a variety of settings.

Bottled sample, listed as 9% alcohol. Very pale yellow in colour with fairly low carbonation. A mix of sweet and sour apples on the nose, and a bit floral too. Sort of off-dry in the mouth, with a clean apple flavour, minerals, and a hint of leafy spice. Light bodied and very moreish. You would never expect this to weigh in at 9%.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. I liked this quite a bit. Nice sweet apple. Better than most ciders.

Yellow colour. Nice crisp wine-like palate. Sweet and fruity (apple obviously), a little sour. Definitely a high end cider.

Bottle, shared with my dad. Pale clear straw yellow, fine, brisk carbonation. Aroma of musty apples. Flavour profile is medium sweet, leaning toward sweet, with heaps of genuine musty apple and some lighter tart notes that make me think of plums for some reason. Crisp, snappy mouthfeel, dry finish. Very nice.

750ml bottle. 9%. Crisp bright gold colour. Strong funky nose more cheesy than apple. Big flavour of fresh apples and bitter fruit edge and something I attribute to a yeast edge. Alcohol is almost not noticeable. A much more aggressive flavour than most ciders.

Sampled at Dunbar Liquor Boutique, pours a pale golden yellow. Dry apples, apricot and oranges dominate this one with a slight sweetness. Not bad.
