MatSciGuy (171), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Apr 23, 2008 [bottle] shared by JK. Poured clear gold with a small off white head. Aroma is like those peach-o rings you can get at the grocery store. Sparkling light mouthfeel with the wheat malt coming through at the end.
(Rating #1791) BrianDorry55 (5), Spring Hill, Florida, USA does not count Jul 14, 2008 Smelled like strong apricots, probably not what you want a beer to smell like but it was a really good smell overall. Light head, the color was unlike any beer seen, pretty much orange. Tasted like apricots and seltzer water. Didnt taste bad but a bit light for my liking. Palate was definately the best part, very easy to drink. Overall I wouldnt say its a bad beer, about what I expected out of an apricot beer...now I’m gonna go try the rest of the "Motley Crue Variety Pack"! Eyedrinkale (3091), Beer Town, New York, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle. Exactly what you’d expect from Shipyard. Artificial apricot aroma. Flavor is Pez-like, light and airy. No maltiness worth noting. Could be appealing to a twelve year old kid and that’s about it. Total bullshit. MrBunn (795), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottled as Kennebunkport Apricot Wheat. Color is a fairly light amber/gold with a minimal head and a nice number of carbonation streams flowing toward the surface. Aromas are solid apricots... that’s it... almost an apricot marmolade or something. Not quite fake, but not 100% natural, either. Elements in the flavor that I found interesting: the wheat notes come through very clearly in the aftertaste, but you have to kind of wait for them to get there before taking another sip; the apricot presence is much stronger in scent than in flavor; a kind of lemony/grassy hops presence matches the malt body nicely. phishpond417 (1110), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 29, 2008 While i will admit it tastes a little similar to the No.9, it still has its own characteristics that set it aside from others. Magic Hat was actually 4 boothes away from this beer. This was a little sweeter, and a lot more wheat. Still similar cloudy orange body with a pleasent fresh apricot aroma. Taste is pleaseant and citrusy.
