Il cane di mare naviga in acque piatte e senza effervescenze gustative degne di nota. Predominano le note dolci e intense dei mirtilli, quelle sì percebili in modo apprezzabile. Niente stona, ma anche niente sottolinea un carattere peculiare.

12 oz. bottle, thanks to Ian. Pours gold, with a medium, bubbly, beige head. The aroma is a lot of blueberries, walnuts, and some light chocolate. Syrupy sweetness, and a faint bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and thick. Overall, this is a strong fruit beer, with a pretty good blueberry aroma, but little balance.

Crisp taste, but a little too much blueberry flavor. It's almost like an artificial blueberry flavor. It's tasty, but the flavor would grow tiresome after a glass/bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I liked the blueberry aroma and flavor of this beer. I like sour and fruity beers usually, but this beer was a nice divergence. It was easy to drink and refreshing.

2oz sample at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Pours a golden color with a small head of foam. Taste is grainy with artificial blueberry. Taste is the same. Grainy with lots of artificial blueberry flavoring.

12 oz bottle at a tasting on January 13. This one is definitely a little different. There is a sweetness to it, but not as much as you’d expect in a fruit beer. The pour is a darker gold with a darker white head that foamed up a bit. The head leaves just about no lace. The aroma is definitely faint blueberry, but there isn’t much else. I was hoping for a little more complexity or perhaps an ale-like tendency, but it’s not there. The flavor is also faint in the blueberry with an overly sweet note that fades through an excessively sour malt finish. The mouth feel is thin with a slightly excessive carbonation and a lingering sourness.
