This is your basic extract laden fruit beer only whoever brewed this seems to have added something a bit of something w/ lactic acid which makes this taste exactly like blueberry yogurt. I like blueberry yogurt OK, I guess, so I can’t say this is all bad but it’s not exactly what I look for in a beer. It is clear golden orange w/ a small head of white, fine bubbles. It is one dimensionally blueberry with just a hit of sweetness and that slight tartness I mentioned. This is light to medium bodied w/ very vigorous carbonation. I am willing to concede this is better than most of its ilk as it really doesn’t cloy but it is still not a stellar example of a natural tasting fruit beer.

A little too strong on the blueberry flavor, for me, but if you love the taste, you will love the beer.

Sea Dog is a fine brewery, excellent brew pub, and a great place to be. Expensive as hell, but well worth the price, even if it is a Fruit Beer.

$3.16 for the bottle purchased in town at a respectable joint. The bar maiden, popped the lid off and threw it into the trash. To pint, pours a mauve-tinted golden brown, with which a whitish head 1 and half fingers in length stood. Immediately remember the cloves, frozen blueberry concentrate, sweat, and bread yeast on the nose, and in my mouth. A slight leathery character experienced by swallow. Quaffable. Flavors were unquestionably a tad on the muted side, however.

Ordered this on accident thinking I was getting the fin stout. Oops. It isn't bad for me hating wheat and fruit beers. Refreshing on a hot summer patio day. Draft at beer market. Blueberry and fruity wheat taste - not much more to say

Nice blueberry ale. Good session beer for a hot day and you want a fruit beer.

Pours a pale amber with a medium, white head that lingers a while. Nose is blueberry. Taste is mildly sweet with a nice little hop bite and a blueberry finish. Somewhat thin, lively carbonation. Not bad.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent looking orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a half a minute leaving some light lacing sticking to the sides of the glass.
The smell definitely had the blueberry up front with a slight heavy grainy/wheat sort of thing going on.
The taste was mainly the same thing taking that wheat/graininess to give a slight kick at the end.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued as the wheat took over.
Overall, Sea Dog/Shipyard did what they wanted to do. It’s everything they said it would be, however did I like it? Well, to me, the wheat tends to sit just a tad too heavy, I’d rather have Bar Harbor’s Blueberry Ale.
