jasonp (1423), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Apr 8, 2008 Straw golden with no head. Grainy, faint blueberry nose. Tastes like a light american lager with some real and some artificial-like blueberry favor added. Some graininess. Not gross or anything like that. Didn’t pick up any wheat character. Clean yeast. Medium/light body with lively carbonation.
dwyerpg (1990), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jul 25, 2008 Smells like blueberries, but in a funky off-kilter way. Not a good aroma. Flavor is initially strong with blueberries and not too much wheat. Finish peters out in fruit flavor, but picks up in carbonation. I don’t really like it. markwise (205), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 20, 2008 This is a nice wheat beer, but it is too sweet. It has a nice aroma of blueberries and fruit. It has an almost overwhelming fruit sweetness that is a bit unbalanced. It is ok, but not the best fruit beer. (Rating #1790) BrianDorry55 (7), Spring Hill, Florida, USA does not count Jul 15, 2008 Aroma of blueberry pancakes...which could quite possibly be the best smell in the world, so definately a positive in that category. Decent head, amber color, clear. Flavor is pretty good...Blueberries and maybe a bit doughy, I cant put my finger on it so I could very possibly be wrong. Ive had two blueberry beers now...Sweetwater Blue is definately better. But this one isnt bad. Im now convinced that Sea Dog is easy on the palate, which I enjoy. Overall it was pretty good...a bit better than the apricot wheat...but not quite up to the standards of Sweetwater Blue. But I enjoyed it, would drink again....Now on to the Pale Ale! MrBunn (801), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 9, 2008 Bottle. Pour is a clear amber with just a bit of a head and lively and fizz-like carbonation. Aromas are thick with blueberries and reach my nose as I just begin to pour. Closer examination reveals that there is something a little funky lurking in the background, but I have no idea how to describe it. Just that it is a little off-putting. Flavor is like a blueberry spritzer or something with a watery beer backbone and a wierd aftertaste. Wheat? where??? Meh...
