12 ounce bottle from Trader Joe’s in Glen Allen, VA. Kennebunkport label. Pours a light amber color with a thin head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is a weird funky cheesy wheat with fairly strong blueberry notes. Taste is wheat, blueberry and some grainy and grassy notes. Thin bodied. Definitely a miss here.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2006 Very pale/light color. Extremely blueberry scent that I felt as the bottle opened 50 cm from me. Very blueberry taste and verry little bitterness. Fun in the beginning, gets too much after half the beer. Bottle, at The Rover on February 9, 2006.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2011 Bottle @ home. Stole this one from my girlfriend’s side of the fridge. It’s been sitting there for a good three months, so I figured it was free game. Of course, she’ll probably notice tomorrow and give me a spanking. Anyways, Orange appearance with a tan head. There’s only one way to describe the nose: it’s a strong blueberry muffin. Strong blueberry muffin that’s very enticing. Mostly a strong blueberry flavor over a wheat malty body. Though the blueberries taste very nice and not artificial, they really make this beer one dimensional. Despite this, it does make for a great fruit beer and the freshness and the authenticity of the blueberries is great. A little bitter and a little thin.

Cletus (6177) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 11, 2006
Bottle. Pours a semi cloudy amber/copper with an initially creamy head that dissipates somewhat but remains enough to leave a generous amount of lacing throughout the drinking. Smells of blueberries, sugar, syrup, some sweet malt. Tastes of blueberry muffins with a nice malty backbone, some lemony elements and a sugary finish. One of the better blueberry ales I have tasted.

bottle, golden color with lackluster foam, good blueberry aroma but flavor is very weak

GT2 (5659) - Riverslime, California, USA - SEP 8, 2009
Bottle. Pours a darker gold with a temporary white head. Nose of blueberry pancake mix, some wheat, cereal, corn. Taste of blueberry muffins up front and then fades to stale cereal, lemon, seltzer water. Interesting. As far as blueberry beers go, this is one step above say AB’s Wild Blue, which is disgusting.

Draught. At Coles, Buffalo NY - sampled from/with Biegamon. Clear bubbly yellow with an average draught white head. Aroma of fresh wild blueberries - not sweetened but still nicely fruity-sweet - with some sharp yeast and light alcohol. Taste was cloyingly fruit-sweet at first, but not overpowering as it didn’t taste artificial, and there’s enough actual spicy/yeasty generic witbier backbone too. Mouthfeel is very lively and sticky, a little acidic and of course sweet - maybe it was spring helping, but I liked this - fresh and tasty!

Ernest (5627) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 13, 2005
UPDATED: APR 14, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly yeasty (dough), with a strong note of blueberry and other berries, light note of manure. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter, husky, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. It’s kinda like soda pop with some feces in it. Second try after a couple years and still nasty.
