Fashioned after the famous ales from Burton-On-Trent which took on such bold character after surviving the long, rolling voyage from London to Calcutta in the days of the Empire. This is an amber colored masterpiece in the world of beer styles.

Malt: 2-Row British Pale Ale, Crystal & Chocolate
Hops: Willamette, Cascade
Yeast: Top fermenting English.

Under KBC label. Aroma of pine and citrus. Hazy orange in appearance..tan head fades quickly. Sweet malt up front...nice backbone. Follows with a citrus laced bitterness. Average in bite. Finishes with a nice balance of sweet and bitter....bitterness lingers a bit on the tongue. Not complex, but very solid for the price.

Had this on tap. Color was amber / brown. Slight head and malt aroma. Taste was banana like and can’t decide if this was intentional or the taps needed cleaning. Overall disappointing.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark copper color with a medium white head. A light fruity nose with caramel. The flavor is mild fruity hops, super sweet grainy earthy malts. Odd. Lemons. Tea. Cost a buck.

Bottle@Manhattan Cafe, Lecce, Italy. Strongly coloured amber beer with a strong light brown head. The aroma is yeasty and lightly hopped. The flavour is well hopped with a good degree of bitterness and some gassy, yeasty and maltiness. Overall a nice American style IPA with plenty of hops but not enough roastedness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home from notes. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium sized frothy off white head that doesn’t last. The aroma and flavor has lightly toasted malt, grains, earthy hops and a mild citrus component with a dry finish. Medium body. There is not much hop bitterness to this and that is disappointing.

KBC IPA has a thin, cream-colored head, a clear, bubbly, orange-copper appearance, and a slight lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, fruity, toffee candy. Taste is of caramel candy, citrus pith, English hop bitterness, and sugar, with a background of bread crust. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and KBC IPA finishes crisp and semi-wet. It is certainly an unusual IPA and most definitely NOT of the West Coast style. Overall, this oddity is interesting and enjoyable. Its mouthfeel and finish are lager like. RJT
