Fashioned after the famous ales from Burton-On-Trent which took on such bold character after surviving the long, rolling voyage from London to Calcutta in the days of the Empire. This is an amber colored masterpiece in the world of beer styles.

Hops: Willamette, Cascade
Yeast: Top fermenting English.

Sea Dog India Pale Ale, brewed by Shipyard in Portland, Maine. 5.7%. The Loop Hotel, Zagreb, courtesy of and shared with Hrabren (thanks!). Golden body with a white head. Sweet, peachy malty, sugary perfumey aroma. Bitterish taste, perfumey, notes of honey and bread, light gum, herbal, nicely balanced, drinkable and tasty even feeling the ravages of time. And you gotta love the label!

Bottled 355ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb as Sea Dog India Pale Ale; 5.7%ABV. Probably this is right one. Dark golden (almost cooper) coloured, small off-white head, fruity nose. Moderate malty, biscuity, fruity hoppy and some floral notes with pretty strong bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Slightly perfumed but pleasant.

Bottle - KBC IPA - Pours a clear amber with a typical head. Different aromas of tart citrus and detergent. Taste is like the aromas with some bitterness and a soapy finish. A very different IPA for me, but drinkable.

Clear amber color with small white foam. Aroma of citrus and some floral hops, but aftertaste is malty. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with medium bitter finish. Really not bad IPA, but it requires some balance in taste.

12oz bottle (Kennebunkport "KBC" IPA) thanks to Pizz5116. Pours a clear amber color with a finger of foamy off white head. Aroma of faint citrus, rotted peaches, and a hint of nail polish remover. Taste is better, but not by much. Rotted citrus, lemon zest, bitter pine, yeast, and caramel malt. Meh

[Bottle (12oz)] As ’KBC IPA’. Pours a hazy, very bubbly dark golden-orange with an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is fruity and hoppy, bready, sweet and alcoholic -- odd and a bit candy-like. Fruity, bready flavour along with a touch of alcohol and an almost harsh moderate bitter finish. Average bodied. Decent enough that I can drink it, but I’d never buy it again.

From Total Wine in Stuart. No bottle date. Amber pour with an off orange head Fruity sweet aroma with some sugar and some toffee. Sweet fruits in the taste, toffee, with more simple sugar, some earth and a bit of citrus. Rough. Finishes sweet and slightly bitter. Thinking this was old, but also sure I’ve had before, and it was not that great then. 12.4
