1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Labeled as Kennebunkport IPA at Trader Joes. Deep, darker amber with a frothy off white head. Super skunky nose, wow, it smells like the first time I smelled a rolling rock. Some earwax (which I have smelled in ipa’s before), sweet malts, diacteyl. Flavor is sweet, thin, lightly spicy with a slimy plastic finish. Shityard strikes again.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cat whizzy, sulphury, hot chili pepper aroma. Bad label, darkish rusty orange, clear, thin foamy head. Mineral, dry, acidic, tongue-curling over-brewed hops, spritzy. Light body, long nauseating finish. BOTM club selection. Thanks, Uncle Doug.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 12 oz Kennebunkport IPA from Trader Joe’s; Nose of weak caramel and wheat;clear copper with a medium beige head; flavor is caramel, with vannilla and clove notes; and this is supposed to be an IPA? I gues the cost of hops was too much so they just left them out!

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
smells a little old, not very floral. nice head. perhaps a yellow iced tea color. Oh my, taste is remeniscent of older lager. STRONG FER SURE. seems like much more than 6%. fairly rude in its medicinal presentations. now a long nagging backdrop of rubber cutain lingers in the back of my throat. what a finsh.....soapy

Sampled at the Impromptu Butter’s 6th cellar clearance. Clear orange pour with minimal ring of whitish head. Weak Light apple nose with some bready qualities. Flavor has a light apple hop flavor and caramel malt to balance. Sweet sticky finish. Pretty boring actually.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: APR 20, 2006 2005 bottle. Brassy-copper/gold appearance, clear with a moderate amount of white head, some retention. No lacing. Aroma of pale malts, sweet honey and light hay and grains. Some spicy notes in the nose. Flavor is more sweet malts, grassy and spicy soft hops. Some sweet dough, low to moderate carbonation, bit of wateriness, but otherwise nothing wrong here, just needs a bit more malt complexity and even a stronger hops presence. Drinkable enough for what it is, assuming it’s just a lighter session IPA. This isnt bottle conditioned (not an ale on lees).

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper orange color with a very foamy white head. The aroma is musty as hell! Like attic dust. No hops at all. Some fruit but flat smelling. Flavor is buttery popcorn, grains, wood and broken dreams. You are not a Jedi yet. I mean IPA.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours thin amber, bubbly and a hollow head. Aroma is tangy sweet malt and old banana. Flavor is coppery strawberry. Palate is a bit thicker than expected. Not terrible, but not worth repeating.
