murawski (158), USA Oct 1, 2006 "Ale with pumpkin flavor added" -- yep, that’s pretty much it. Fairly non-distinct, but not bad. The pumpkin flavor is like pumpkin pie, and not overpowered by nutmeg or mulling spices. Easy drinking, and worth grabbing next time your at Trader Joes’s.
halfonit (54), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Sep 28, 2008 This is pretty good stuff. I’ve had plenty of the pumpkin ales and would have to say this one rates up there with shipyards version. Has a nice pumpkin spice flavor to it. Nothing too sweet nor too bitter. Good job Sea Dog. Bungalo22 (304), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Aug 31, 2008 Pours a yellow with a small tint of orange and a small head. The aroma is a very sweet spice with some fruit coming through. It is very light bodied an just at the end do you get a slight pumpkin pie flavor. Just not enough body here, a bit too carbonated and a artificial tasting flavor. bhensonb (3004), Woodland, California, USA Nov 13, 2007 Bottle. Smells like pumpkin pie spice. Orange tinged gold color with a white head that barely exists. Near medium body with fizzy carbonation. It has the pie spice, and seems to have pumpkin. It’s dryish, and there is hop. However, the main attraction is the spice, including nutmeg. The finish is spice with some light bitter. Decent enough, and better than many of the style. Gundarak (4), Salem, Massachusetts, USA does not count Oct 18, 2007 Drank from bottle. Found the label amusing.. not like any i’ve seen before. Smelled of spices and hops. Taste was very pleasant. You can taste the hops compared to other pumpkin ales I have tried. The hops brings out the flavor of the pumpkin. I like this beer. If the world was somehow rid of all Shipyard Pumpkinhead, I would buy this. kevd193213 (335), Coventry, Rhode Island, USA Sep 9, 2007 Bottle. Golden pour with little to no head, also very little carbonation present. Aroma of pumpkin and spices. Very watery taste of straw and pumpkin spices.
