Beer pours golden color with good white head. Odd spicy smell, beer has average ale flavor and body with spices added seeming as an after thought. Not really pumpkin-y but does have pumpkin pie spices. This beer falls into the ya get what ya pay for class as it was only $5 at Trader Joes

Bottle, screw-top. At least they’re up front with stating it’s "natural flavor" rather than direct pumpkin addition. Nose is seasonally spicy with light earthy and vegetal tones, but overall sweetness is dominant. Pours clear pale orange with a soapy beige head. Thinnish medium body with some actual malt character but more in the way of cinnamon, allspice, and an absolute overload on nutmeg. Off-dry, surprisingly, with nothing but spice in the finish, reminds of the dregs of pumpkin spice lattes and the like; lightly wooden, too, with a touch of bitterness and astringency, artificiality.

downender (6525) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 19, 2014
Bottle. Clear, deep, gold with no head and slight carbonation. Light and sweet aroma of pumpkin. Full, carrot cake aroma with some cinnamon and artificial pumpkin syrup edge. Strangely drinkable for a ’flavour added’ beer.

Pours a golden amber with fast dissipating head. Smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, taste the same. actually taste more like apples than pumpkin, but overall a nice brew.

deyholla (7002) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 26, 2014
Bottle at Zoo Brew. Pours a clear deep gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of sweet grain and sweet pumpkin with a bit of spice. Flavor has lots of sweet grain and heavy spice with a hint of pumpkin.

Beerdedone (2743) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2014
Bottle. Pours golden yellow with an average white head. Aroma of light pumpkin, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Flavor was super light and watery with artificial spices and slight pumpkin.

PorterPounder (5707) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 9, 2014
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling medium golden pour, very quickly fading off-white bubbly head. Aroma has a some candy-like nutmeg and cinnamon notes. Flavor is slightly harsh with an overabundance of artificial spice - mainly ginger with a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon. Mouthfeel is slightly tinny and harsh. Not one of the better pumpkin offers this year.

Seltzer and raw cinnamon aroma. Pale orange, clear. Dopey label, standard 12 oz longneck. Mild cinnamon, lightly sweet, watery. Dilute, starchy cinnamon water. Vaguely Dentyne finish. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at Sea Dog in Topsham, ME. In a pint glass, it shows a semi-clear golden yellow colored body with no head and once sipped no lacing whatsoever (no head, I won’t blame the bartender because they’re trying to give me my money’s worth). No carbonation is seen rising (this is interesting?). The aroma = nothing, not even the pumpkin, just plain bland (if water had a smell I guess this would smell like water). The taste had some pumpkin and that’s it, no other Autumn spices, huh?, well ok. On the palate, uh... it was super light (I was able to pound this within three minutes) yet nothing harsh on the tongue. Overall, ok, I wanted this and now I wish I never had it because this was, in my opinion, absolutely awful. As much water as I drank before this, I’m thinking this would have helped me have a clean palate and I think it still didn’t help. Now I don’t know what to think, I drank at least five glasses of water after this just so I could be able to review another beer. Personally, I think this beer needs to be retired or re-worked altogether.

Bottle. This is not a good pumpkin ale. Stick with one of the known quality varieties.
