Four different malted barleys combine to create a distinctive, full-bodied beer with a roasted nuttiness, uniquely enhanced by a hint of hazelnuts. Smooth and creamy with the nose of the Willamette hop, this porter is a beer style unto itself.

English malts and coca flavor. Spicy and brown sugar. Not bad. Draft at shipyard. Not bad compared to shipyards crap beers.

From a 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear deep mahogany with an ecru head. Nutty nose. Flavors of hazel nuts and toffee. Light bodied. Bitter roast finish.

August 30, 2015 - on tap at Orlando brewpub. Brown pour with some head and lacing. Aroma was hazelnut, roasted malt and coffee. Taste was consistent with the aroma, but light on the hazelnut and had a mildly bitter finish.

Pours almost black with a ruby red glow. Thin off-white head gone pretty quickly. Nose is all hazelnut extract on malt. Almost not sure that’s not an imitation flavor. Taste is fairly sweet and simple. Not a complex brew. Quite drinkable, but not a favorite.

Bottle. Clear dark, deep brown, lights behind reveal some nice hues. Thin light tan head doesn’t last long at all. Hazelnuts in the nose, and not much else. Maybe some toasted sourdough. Very sweet, very nutty. Sugary hazelnut syrup. There’s more "beer" in the flavor, a bit of toasty bitterness, lots of sweet hazelnut and a lingering burnt character. Soft medium body, lots of fizz. A little artificial-tasting, but I don’t hate it. Enough roasty bitterness to balance out the sweet stuff.

Pours a clear very deep red/brown with a large foamy off-white head. Aromas of roasted malt, light coffee and hazelnuts. Tastes of slightly roasty but sweet and nutty malt and a hint of hops-- a bit watery. Light to medium bodied.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2015 Bottle from Epsom Circle Market. Aroma is interesting roasted hazelnut with hints of chocolate, a little bit like cigarette ash. Appearance is nice deep clear reddish brown with 1-2 finger width creamy off-white head with good retention and moderate lacing. Taste is as aroma--rich hazelnuts with hints of chocolate and smokiness, well balanced bitter and sweet. Palate is medium bodied, moderately thick and creamy, with a tad too much carbonation that bites the front of the tongue. Pleasant moderately long smokey bitter finish. Overall, this gets high marks on every front--a real diamond in the rough! Got as part of a mixed cast-off 6 pack but will definitely keep an eye out for this one.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 Decent enough. Smells Amazing but the taste isn?t quite as good as the smell. The hazelnut is good and sweet but there?s a slight aftertaste. I liked it and would have again. But the smell made me think more was in store. Bottle
