Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 31, 2006 Dark brown with whiffing soda pop aroma. Medium mouthfeel, about at expiry date or a bit past. No head, no lace. Soda pop and beer.Overcarbonated. A reasonable though too sweet beverage on a hot summer night. JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jul 24, 2006 Very dark brown with a foamy beige head. Light hazelnuts, coffee and caramel corn aromas. Sweet dark caramel flavors, mix with a mild hazelnut extract taste. Cobbler and coffee. Hints of dark chocolate and mild dark caramel. Decent flavors that don;t meld well and make things interesting. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jul 11, 2006 A very light tan head covers the dark brown body with ruby highlights. Teh aroma has some rich choclate with a hint of sweetened coffee. I can barely detect the hazel nuts. The taste has a bit of coffee with warm peaches. There is also a nutty finish. The mouthfeel is slick and creamy. This is a little sweet for my tastes in porters, but anyone that likes sweetened coffee should enjoy this one. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 21, 2006 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry - his bottle. Ruby-brown with a tiny an head. Nutty mocha aroma, a bit roasty - like a fake flavoured coffee. Thin, fizzy body. Flavour is a bit metallic and sour, with more artificial nut flavour. Really mediocre. I gotta wonder if we got an old/bad botle... HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jun 16, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Shared with GregClow, my bottle. Deep cola-ruby with a small diminishing beige head. Dry, oily roasty aroma - plenty of nutshell and burnt toast, hints of coffee and scorched nutella. Taste of acrid coffee grounds, fake nut flavouring (again the nutella) - it’s roasty, but not very authentic. Weak bodied, dry and acidic, kind of a nasty bitter/chemical/syrupy aftertaste - how does this rate much above a 3? Really not very good at all. GonZoBeeR (2156), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Jun 2, 2006 Aroma:nutty and coffe....
Appearance:dark brown,small beige head...
Flavor:good mixe of nutty, chocolate and coffe.... Quevillon (1519), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada May 31, 2006 But au Mondial de la Bière 06. Couleur de cola, petit collet beige. Arome de noix rôti et d’herbe. Goût de noix, un peu amère mais doux. jefcon (997), Arlington, Virginia, USA Apr 30, 2006 Dark brown, but not substantial-looking, in the glass. Aromas are light malteds, some chocolate candy bar, and a few hops shining through. It is a nutty porter, to be sure, but lots of carbonation and a weedy tinge ruin the effect. Neither smooth nor creamy, this beer has lots of texture and no staying power on the palate. Bitter finish.
