COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Four different malted barleys combine to create a distinctive, full-bodied beer with a roasted nuttiness, uniquely enhanced by a hint of hazelnuts. Smooth and creamy with the nose of the Willamette hop, this porter is a beer style unto itself.

Served from a 12 oz bottle from the beer of the month club I got for my Birthday. The appearance is a cola brown with some large bubbles and a light foam head. The nose has some musty malt profile behind it with some nut edges. The flavors follow suite. A muddle of middle of the road roasted malts with a sweet hazelnut aftertaste. Nothing special but drinkable.

This beer looks and smells good with pretty good flavor. However, the aftertaste leaves something to be desired. I’ll finish the six pack that I bought, but would not buy it again.

Bottle. Loved this beer. Dark brown color with a medium tan head. A malty roasted nut aroma. Taste was a hazelnut laced chocolate delight. Nice.

Bottle. A- Hazelnuts, chocolate, roasty, toffee. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Hazelnuts, slightly malty, cocoa, roasted, nutty, toffee. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, nutty finish. O- Pretty darn good, but not quite great. The hazelnut aroma and taste is great especially at the front, but the taste fades and leaves you with a not so great after taste. Nonetheless, this is a pretty solid brew, that with a few tweaks would be really damn good. The hazelnut is very welcomed, but it’s just lacking and not quite complex enough.

Pours nice ebony color with cherry reflects. Almost no head. Nose is caramel and coffee. Aromas are roasted malts, coffee and clearly hazelnut. Dry and coffee-nutty finish. Well balanced and pleasant beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown pour with a thin beige head. I was a bit wary of this but it turned out to be decent. Aroma is chocolate, sweet hazelnut, caramel, and light coffee grounds. A bit slick on the tongue, medium bodied. The sweetness is more subdued than I expected. Toffee, Chocolate, light nuttiness, and a flutter of vegetable character on the first sip. Finishes with a pleasant, mild roastiness. Not a bad beer, but don’t let it warm up too much.

12oz bottle, from Party Town. Been nervous about this one. Expecting an oversweet mess. Aroma is suprisingly nice. Good chocolate notes, and hazelnut icing. Tons of vanilla. Pretty damn nice nose. Was not expecting to enjoy this this much at all. Very dark brown/red color, clear around the edges. Little khaki head, leaves decent splotches and ropes of lace. Nice toasty, nutty, chocolatey flavor. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, lightly spicy. Sweetness is not as bothersome as I expected. Thankfully, this is not heavy, it’s not overbearing, which seems to make the sweetness tolerable. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Slick texture. Medium body. Gets sweeter towards the end, but I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed the flavor of this.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with lots of hazelnut on the nose. Flavor is pretty good actually. Hazelnut, roasted malts, sweetness with a nice mouthfeel. Surprisingly good.

This is amazingly drinkable and tasty, with a nice unique twist of the hazelnut onto the usual same old same old of roasted/toasted porter notes.

Twelve ounce bottle from the Beer Of The (Every Other) Month Club. Very dark brown/ruby hue, small tan head, firm nose of malt, something that smells like cookie dough, and hazelnuts (I guess), flavor is mostly carbonation and chemical taste with sweet malty elements as the glass warmed but mostly in the finish--too little too late.
