COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The true session beer with lots of "red magic" going on. This is a well-balanced, medium-bodied beer with a moderately sweet malt aroma brewed with five different malts and balanced by a subtle hop flavour.

Reddish-brown with a thick, low head. Very fresh pale malt nose shows only slight caramel and breadcrust. Slightly sweet accent with a kiss of chocolate, light toast, and a subtle earthy hop underpinning. Slightly watery finish increases refreshment value.

A reddish amber lae with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, a nice nutty butterscotch malt, pungeant and oily. In mouth, a classy Irish Red with butterscotch, heral hops, some treacle. Medium bodied. Spot on! On tap at brewpub, Oct. 10 2009.

Deep amber pour with a nice sweet caramelized malt. Toasted sweetness and a bit of crystal malts. A little bit of soft sweetness. Fairly herbal with a pronounced woody hoppiness. A pretty simple, but well-constructed brew.

2008-11-01. Dark copper-amber body with a nice creamy beige head leaves good lace behind. (3+) Sweet aroma, fruit, light yeast, dust sweet caramel malt. Flavour has a creamy fruit character that is probably largely the yeast. Makes me briefly think diacytl/caramel but I dont think it is per se, pleasant. Light bitterness shows up near the end but the lasting impression is sweet fruit. Smooth average plus palate. Decent. On tap at Port Pub, as Mojo Red.

Bottle, deep mahogany, medium beige head. Sweet fruity caramel aroma. Sweet malty palate, dark caramel, butterscotch, vague fruit, hints of cocoa and nuts. Quite flavorful, but also quite sweet, with no real bitterness to speak of.

Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - SEP 29, 2008
Clear, deep dark amber with thick beige head. Fresh dark malts, earthy and unbelievably fresh aroma. Soft, smooth mouthfeel with low carbonation. Gorgeously fresh, like drinking in the earth’s freshly sown barley. Super intense grain flavors with no flaws. Solid and smooth and incredibly well-made.

[1833-20081101] Tap. Fresh doughy yeast bread mild plastic aroma. Clear, red amber body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head and nice thick lacing. Thick yeasty dough flavour with a rough malty finish. Medium body has a slightly tangy finish. Quite enjoyable, interesting yeast characteristics.

Gethinbeer (1820) - Musky, Nova Scotia, CANADA - JAN 26, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2009 Pint in Port Williams. Again another beer with a faint aroma. Red amber in colour with a decent head clinging to the glass. Smooth texture. Decent red ale style, slight hint of hops. Flavour doesn’t really blow you away but seems a good quality ale. Re rate, this beer is fantastic, the hops give it a great bitterness that is well balanced throughout the ale. Great stuff.

Draught at The Port (Aug/08). Pours a clear orange-gold with moderate tan head. Aroma fairly prominent with sweet malts. Malts strong in taste with a faint hopiness. Bitter finish.

On tap at the Port Pub, sampled 10/4/08. Red amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. Caramel, light bodied, citrus, and fruity aroma. Caramel and bready malts with a citrusy and lightyl earthy bitter finish. Medium bodied, juicy but firm mouthfeel. Like the rest of the lineup, this isn’t your average brewpub Amber.
