Draught at the brewpub. Not a lot to say about this; it’s a respectable amber, but doesn’t really stand out.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - MAR 28, 2008
Draught at the brewpub. Clear red-amber with a beige head. Light dishwater yeast and light toasted malt aroma. The flavor has a definite dirty wet rag quality with indistinct hops and light malt. Prickly and light body. A definite let down, as all their other beers that I have tried have been solid. None of the flavors step out and make themselves known, except the undesirable ones. Sounds like it can be better, and I have to stop back in and try a future batch.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 illidurit (1629) - Santa Cruz, California, USA - JAN 26, 2008
Sampled at the brewpub. Pours a deep, dark copper color with a creamy white head that recedes with decent lacing. Aroma includes a sweet maltiness and a tangy spicy note. The flavor reflects this, with grainy and sweet malt balanced out by a spicy floral hop zest. Light body, crisp finish, pretty easy to drink.
