COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This recipe was brewed by the winner of our home brew contest. Dave Bossie used nine different malts and two types of sugar to create this unique beer. Peated malt gives a smokey aroma to the finished product. This beer is big and complex, but she goes down easy. Approx. 8.0% alc/vol.

On tap @ Seabright. Dark amber pour with an off-white head. Sour dark fruits, smoke, and raisin. A bit of caramel, some red wine vinegar, and grass. Flavor is strangely sour. A lot of red wine vinegar and sour fruits. Caramel, raisin, and a bit of grass. Mild smoke on the finish.

Draught at the brewery. Clear dark red-brown with a small off-white head. The aroma is a mix of earthy, peaty smoke with a touch of ash, and sweet caramel. The flavor is quite sweet, rocking candy and caramel, and has an earthy and peaty edge to it that makes up the other main component. Pretty much absent of detectable hops, other than a touch of bitter that isnt enough to balance the sweetness. Not quite cloying, but much sweeter than I would like. Full bodied with lingering stickiness. Sweet and peaty stuff, and Im just not into that in a scotch ale.

Dark brown but clear with ruby highlights. Tannish head that fizzles out pretty quick. Aroma is bready malt with a wisp of smoke. Flavor is the same, kinda thin and underwhelming with a slightly meaty smokiness. Not robust enough for the alcohol level. Pretty drinkable though.
