Tap. Pours opaque black, medium creamy brown head, great lacing. Aroma is dark roasty malts, coffee grounds. Flavor is roasty, perhaps some lactose, light sweet, light bitter. Coffee finish. Light body, watery and creamy at the same time if that is possible.

Pretty black in the glass. Roasted peanuts and walnuts on the nose. Slightly creamy. Taste has a lot of toasty qualities but the cigarette butts and plywood make it hard to finish

On tap @ Seabright. Black pour with a khaki head. Aroma of plastic, roast, and smoke. Some earth, a touch of cheese, and rubber. Flavor is rough. Lots of bitter plastic, rubber, and roast. Smoke, bad blue cheese, and coffee. Some earthy hops, too. Ugh.

From memory, but Iíve had it a bunch of times. Pours black, with a moderate tan head. Nice typical oatmeal-stout smooth mouthfeel. Fairly robust flavor initially, but gets a little thin towards the finish. A good session stout.

Growler thanks to Sandstone on BA. Thanks, Roger! Great appearance with a lasting well-formed tan head and good lacing. Nice aroma - big ashy tobacco and roast. Almost like a cigar city beer. The flavor is roast, coffee, dark chocolate, tobacco, and smokiness. Slight malty sweetness. Medium-full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and average carbonation. Pretty solid beer overall. Beat expectations.

Excellent beginning, roast, malt, complex, and then it turns into mineral water. Not much complexity, and the taste thins out. No head, great mouthfeel.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 13/10/2007 Roast aroma. Small beige head. Black and strong in alcohol with a crisp and bitter roast finish.

On tap at brewery. Dark brown with almost no head. Faint malty aroma. Roasty oat cereal taste with a mild coffee finish.

Poured from tap at Marin Brew Breast Fest an inky black with large mocha head. Aroma is sweet roasted grain. Flavor is chocolate, caramel, coffee - all mildly sweetened - and finishes with a grain roast. The palate is not a big mouthfeel but is good and somewhat creamy. Light drinking for a stout. I really liked this one. I definitely want to try it again.

On tap at the brewpub. 6 oz. sampler. Opaque brown with a light tan head of about a half fingerís height. The foam leaves no lacing on itís way to becoming a thin halo. Smell is of bittersweet chocolate. Smooth oaty texture, black coffee and bakerís chocolate in the flavor. Roasty finish.
