Bottle. Pours a deep ruby color with little head. Nutty aroma that comes through in the flavor as well. A well balanced brown. Chocolate malt comes through with hop bitterness at the end. Lots of carbonation.

tap at Portland brewpub - Pours dark amber-brown with good lacing. The flavor has a similar hops profile to the red ale while the caramel malt is there but seems a bit lacking. It’s a simple brew and not a bad one though I thought it was very similar to the red.

Strong malt aroma with a light amount of hops. Dark amber color with a medium brown head. Light beginning with a roasted malt finish.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours brown with a thick, cream-colored head. Flavor of nuts, toasted malts, and light hops. Flavor strong of the malts. Average texture. A pretty good brown ale.

On draft @ brew pub. Poured with a small, lasting, beige head. Some lacing. Heavy malt, roasted coffee, and a touch of chocolate as well. Pleasant to your nose. Taste is similar to the aroma. Average carbonation. Has a creamy yet dry finish. I can drink a 6 pack with ease, It’s worth a try if you can get a fresh bottle. I would buy again.

Bottle. Pours a dark mahogany brown with a slightly off-white head. Smells of chocolate, caramel, coffee. Taste is similar, a lot of nuts and a lot of coffee too. Not something I’d go out of my way to get, but easy to drink here.
