COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Bourbon Barrel Lake Trout Stout is a smooth velvety twist on our classic stout. We aged our stout in four freshly emptied charred oak bourbon barrels for over four months. Next we carefully blended it with fresh stout to balance the character of the barrel with the boldly familiar flavor of Lake Trout Stout. Unlike our draft LTS, this beer is carbonated to enhance the bourbon barrel experience. This beer’s rich and full-bodied character is complemented by hints of vanilla, oak and bourbon.

Thanks to Dan for opening up this bottle. Served in a SAVOR wine glass. Pours near black with a very thin head and a bit of a collar. The nose has some faint bourbon and a bit of chocolate plus mild roast. Flavor is a bit watery and really light. Mouthfeel is very light with low carbonation. Very watery. Good character but far too mild.

22oz bottle in a shaker. Pours very deep brown with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of a little roasted malts, some chocolate, light oak, and a little hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent beer, but was expecting better.

Bomber. Poured very deep brown with a dark tan head.. low-medium viscosity.. looked great when resuscitated. The aroma was totally awesome.. sweeter chocolates, vanilla, and roasty cocoa blended perfectly with sweet bourbon.. more bourbon as it warmed up.. loved it! The flavor didn’t carry quite as much weight, but it was still good.. opened tart with oak and bourbon notes.. milk and darker chocolates plus a hit of coffee on the middle.. finished with a lot of dry-roasted chocolates and a kiss of bourbon.. balance was very good. Medium-bodied at most on the palate.. sweet, but dry.. very good stuff!

Bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks to mlaroche for this tick. Dark brown in color with a glass full of foam. The aroma is a bit dampened due to all the foam. Roasty with dark chocolate. Roasty, dry dark chocolate and roast aroma. The flavor is decent, very roasty with some bourbon and espresso, maybe a bit of charcoal. Medium-bodied and drying on the palate with average carbonation. Pretty solid overall despite the infected-ish appearance.

Big thanks to HOPSHUNTER for sharing this tasty treat, thanks Jason! Bomber pours deep darkness with nice looking mocha head. The aroma is nice and sweet with malts, chocolate, smooth sweet bourbon, vanilla and some spicy black licorice too. The taste has a good deal of milk chocolate mixing with black licorice spiciness and modest levels of smooth bourbon booze and bits of oak. Smooth and balanced brew. Nice!

Bottle shared by LtDan. Pours with a small tan head and a deep brown body. Aromas are roasty, smokey, light barrel and vanilla. No alcohol character. Flavors of tobacco, roast and vanilla. Really light barrel, a hint of smoke and chocolate. Medium bubbles, quite watery.
