Commercial Description:
We have followed the British tradition and created Frye’s Leap IPA which is one of the hoppiest beers in Maine at 55 IBU’s. Brewed with American 2-row, caramel 20L & 60L Highly hopped with Cascade, Centennial and Nugget and aggressively dry hopped with a mixture of Centennial and Cascade. Frye’s Leap IPA is an American-style India Pale Ale. It has a strong hop flavor and a medium body. Frye’s Leap IPA is light golden in color with a fruity hoppiness that comes from extra dry hop conditioning. The IPA is perfect on a summer day it pairs well with spicy foods, vinaigrettes and grilled vegetables. It also is great with oysters, clams and chilled soups.

Has an amber color. Aroma is of centennial hop. Taste is of hops and a little citrus. Has a nice bite in the end. Nice one.

Pours amber with a white head. Smells perfumy with some floral hints and spice. Tastes spicy and peppery with some floral hints and a citrussy, bitter finish.

Massive head; cloudy orange. Tons of carbonation. Aroma is chlorine and flowery hops. Decent but underwhelming. A decent hop flavor with some weak pale malts. Kinda "eh."

In short: A fluffy IPA with a basic malt backbone and a good amount of fruity hops. A bit dirty but pleasantly tasty. Decent.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear golden blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Nose shows a lot of fruity hops (citrus, grapefruits, oranges, etc.). Far from a crisp brew, this one felt yeasty and fluffy. Cake-like maltiness, smooth honey and caramel. Really felt like a fluffy cake. Hops really take over the finish. Very fruity bitterness of medium intensity with also a dry dirtiness with tree bark hints. Not crisp or refreshing but overall rather tasty. Prides itself to be “one of the hoppiest beers in Maine at 55 IBU’s”. Yes, at 55 IBU. And I’m also on the best cook living in my house.

12 oz bottle ...clear golden pour, creamy , thin off white head ,excellent lace.aroma is sweet, citrus and some bisquit malt. sweet citrus and caramel malt flavor gives way to a decent resin hop bitterness.finish is dry and very clean ,a tad thin but highly drinkable .medium bodied, smooth and excellent.

I seem to be a lot higher than most for this one. Pours a golden amber with a slight haze. Very nice velvet head that stays for the duration. Aroma is pine and citrus, not as pronounced as you might expect. Flavor has a bit of malt up front but is very hop bitter after. I think it is very well done.

[2360-20090731] Bottle. Mild chocolate malt aroma is mostly grassy yeast. Slightly hazy, light brown orange body with a quick foamy white head. Bread yeast grass flavour has a long flour finish. Medium body. Odd a little but otherwise fine.

A: Pours with an average-sized, white head... this sucker sticks around at one finger-size for the entire duration! Excellent, clumpy white lacing... looks like a Belgian ale in this regard. Body is mostly clear, with a slight haze, and a nice, deep copper color. S: Smells quite hoppy... think there may be some citrus in there as well. T: Slightly watery at the beginning, but that quickly makes way for the hops. Quite a bitter finish, with a long-lasting flavor. I can feel the 55 IBUs coming through. M: Medium-bodied, slightly creamy, average carbonation... quite nice. D: Nice and hoppy, but not overpowering. The look of this beer is its best feature, but everything else is up to par as well. A nice entry from Sebago.
