We have followed the British tradition and created Frye’s Leap IPA which is one of the hoppiest beers in Maine at 55 IBU’s. Brewed with American 2-row, caramel 20L & 60L Highly hopped with Cascade, Centennial and Nugget and aggressively dry hopped with a mixture of Centennial and Cascade. Frye’s Leap IPA is an American-style India Pale Ale. It has a strong hop flavor and a medium body. Frye’s Leap IPA is light golden in color with a fruity hoppiness that comes from extra dry hop conditioning. The IPA is perfect on a summer day it pairs well with spicy foods, vinaigrettes and grilled vegetables. It also is great with oysters, clams and chilled soups.

It was clear and golden in color. The head was moderately sized, slightly bubbly, and off-white. It left just a bit of lacing. The smell had some herbs to it, but mainly orange and just a bit of pine as well. The taste was mildly sweet and floral, the orange comes back ever so slightly. The palate was medium also with a medium carbonation with a decently strong body. Overall, it is a very drinkable beer that I would come back to.

On tap at some BBQ place near lake Sebago. Nose is of fruity hops, a little muted. Taste is also fruity with a moderate bitterness. Body is medium and carbonation too. Certainly a fair option when in the area but not that polished.

Well, it is hoppy. Not sure they put the hops to best use. More out-of-control bitterness dampened slightly by the faint malt character.

Gold pour, luscious white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus, pine pot, caramel, and flavors of blood orange, grapefruit, pine, caramel... soft and nutty.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Nikki’s Liquors, 4/30/15

Aroma: It has strongly fruity aroma, grapefruit/orange, caramel, and some herbal notes.
Appearance: The pour is clear orange with a clean white head, and some fairly strong lacework.
Flavor: The flavor is solid, not quite as good as the aroma, nice sweetness/bitterness balance.
Palate: The mouthfeel is clean, with a medium body, average carbonation, and a mid-dry finish.
Overall Impression: This is a good, solid IPA. It isn’t a top of style offering, but I would happily drink it again.

12oz bottle into glass. Pours a cloudy marmalade amber. Head is hefty, large, 3cm, and full. Aroma is piney, fresh cedar, dry melon. Taste is bitter hops, bitter orange, floral qualities, and sweet tarts. I hear abv is at 6, that seems more appropriate. OK IPA from Maine, but there’s better out there.

Pours a copper color with a fair white head......aroma of mostly pine (which could be smelled when the crown was removed), slight citrus......taste is much heavier citrus than the aroma let on, adequate mouthfeel, pine in the background, well bittered and quite a clean finish.....nicely built ale.
