Commercial Description:
We have followed the British tradition and created Frye’s Leap IPA which is one of the hoppiest beers in Maine at 55 IBU’s. Brewed with American 2-row, caramel 20L & 60L Highly hopped with Cascade, Centennial and Nugget and aggressively dry hopped with a mixture of Centennial and Cascade. Frye’s Leap IPA is an American-style India Pale Ale. It has a strong hop flavor and a medium body. Frye’s Leap IPA is light golden in color with a fruity hoppiness that comes from extra dry hop conditioning. The IPA is perfect on a summer day it pairs well with spicy foods, vinaigrettes and grilled vegetables. It also is great with oysters, clams and chilled soups.

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a cloudy pale golden orange color with a thin layer of alabaster bubbles, mostly around the edges. Sweet malts, light fruits, citrus and bread. Smooth and light bodied with ample carbonation. Ending is lightly malty with notes of aromatic hops.

12oz bottle. Pours clear golden-amber. A smooth white head diminishes to a film, leaving some lacing. Some biscuit in the aroma, overshadowed by bright, earthy, grassy, citric hops. Perhaps a little caramel sweetness, grass, lots of very crisp hop bitterness. Overall effect is quite dry. Bitterness lingers without coating the tongue. Citrus comes out more as it warms. Medium to light palate, very low carbonation, smooth. Verges on the watery as it goes. A solid, very refreshing session IPA. I was very impressed with this at the Beerfest, perhaps a little less so with the bottle.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy dark copper body with a one finger foamy white head that left tons of lacing. No visible carbonation at all. Floral hop nose with a hint of iced tea and light toffee malt. The flavor is of moderate bitter floral leafy hops over a toasted and slightly toffee tinged malt base. Lingering husky bitter finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with moderate soft fizzy carbonation. Overall, an average at best IPA, nothing special, but drinkable.

Beautiful light amber, clear as a bell. Nice floral aroma. Just way too bitter for me.

The aroma was earthy with aged malt and sucking candy caramel. The hops were light. Malty caramel flavor with a hint of citrus at the very end. Dry finish.
