Our Runabout Red Ale started as seasonal ale that we only brewed from March until July. But it was so popular with our regulars that we started brewing it year round in 2002. Our red ale is made with only two hop additions to the kettle as opposed to three in most of our other brews. This brings out the malt charater. It is a well balanced beer suitable for pairing with all types of foods including spicey sauces, BBQ, grilled meats and vineagerettes and most any seafood. We have started bottling this beer for limited release and distribution at our pubs and specialty beer stores. If you know a store that would like to carry our Runabout Red ale or any of our other craft brewed beers please let us know. We will make it happen.
Brewed with American 2-row, caramel 20L , 40L & 80L. Hopped with Willamette and Nugget

Pours clear media copper with small beige head. Almost no bubbles. Light wheat aroma and not much else to speak of. This beer has an overpowering finish flavor of a wheat beer. Good mouth feel - clean and smooth. I’m not a big fan of wheat beers or beers that have a similar flavor, but other than that this beer is not bad.

A gift from a really good friend whom is part of a beer of the month club. It’s red, not exactly the alcohol content I usually shop for, but again it is red.

On draft. Pretty average red. Decent color. Malt is pleasantly toasty. Not much else going on.

Looks great this is a light maroon with an off-white head. Fairly bland aroma of beeriness along with some yeasty fruits. It tastes good, there’s honey, herbs, caramel and a little bitterness. Thin and flat mouthfeel. Good execution of a fairly boring style.

Reds don't get enough credit. This is a solid everyday drinking beer. Has the nice red Amber color and a nice red aroma. The flavor is as it should, malty sweet with a nice balance. My only critique is it's a bit th ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle One of the beers given to me each month The ale poured clear amber color with an off white head and lacing. The aroma is mild but of caramel and bready malts. The ale had a medium body with soft carbonation. The ale has a dry finsih ending with an easy drinking swallow.

Smells like caramel but tastes really malty bitter and hoppy. Pours reddish orange in color with a thin tan head. Had a bottle pour at home. First one from this brewery. Just average. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In glass from tab at brewery, scant head. Slight malty, minimal hop aroma. Nice lacing. Coppery amber color. Clean taste, caramel malt flavors, some roasty hints at finish. Slight hop bittering. Clean finish, but not remarkable.

An odd red ale. Malty with an almost sour grassy taste, not digging the hoppiness either, the sour, maltiness overshadows the little bit of hops, seem strange in that regard. Not a strong showing as reds go.
