COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Runabout Red Ale started as seasonal ale that we only brewed from March until July. But it was so popular with our regulars that we started brewing it year round in 2002. Our red ale is made with only two hop additions to the kettle as opposed to three in most of our other brews. This brings out the malt charater. It is a well balanced beer suitable for pairing with all types of foods including spicey sauces, BBQ, grilled meats and vineagerettes and most any seafood. We have started bottling this beer for limited release and distribution at our pubs and specialty beer stores. If you know a store that would like to carry our Runabout Red ale or any of our other craft brewed beers please let us know. We will make it happen.
Brewed with American 2-row, caramel 20L , 40L & 80L. Hopped with Willamette and Nugget

On tap at the Broad Street Tavern in Freeport, ME:
Clean, citrusy hops sitting on dim toasty, bready maltiness...Some mango, peachy fruitiness sweetens the frail malts and provides support for the shy hops...Barely any bitterness to speak of, this remains a well-crafted, chuggable, boring beer...

Draft. South Portland location. Ambery body, small creamy white head. Aroma is malt with a hint of fruity and i don’t know what. Bit odd, whatever it is, and carries over to the flavour. Dry notes and hint of a funky bite? Perhaps a bit on the old side? Average palate.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Darien. Pours a clear medium amber color with a medium sized frothy head. Decent head retention. Malty aroma... caramel and herbal notes. The taste is very malty with notes of wort, grainy notes, toffee and a mild herbal hoppiness. Medium bodied.
