Slick Nick Long Winter Ale is a classic Sebago seasonal - warming up Maine Winters since 1998. Best enjoyed when nature’s at its worst, Slick Nick Long Winter Ale’s smooth body offers malty warmth and a touch of hop character. Another reason to be thankful for the season.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Cigarette City. Appearance is cloudy light brown/dark orange (like a thick apple cider) with good sparkle, finger-width beige head with poor retention and nice sudsy lacing. Aroma is bready malt with fruit. Taste is bready malt with caramel, slight fruit, some alcohol. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture and average to lively carbonation. Overall, not terribly complex but a good fit for the style.

Draft at old beer bar, aka Grill Next Door. Pours dark amber with an off white head. Aroma is caramel, fruity esters. Flavor is malty, caramel, grassy bitter.

Pours a pretty cloudy mahogony w/ a retaining white head that leaves good lacing. The aroma is simply malt & rather boring. The taste is all malt upfront & then finishes w/ a good bitter kick. It’s ok on the palate & overall a decent beer.

Interesting color combination of brown, red, and orange. Thin head, but some lacing. Some toffee and caramel in flavor with faint citrus hops. Not quite understanding why this is a winter ale though.

A - Pours hazy brown with a 1.5 finger of off-white head. Average retention some lower lacing. S - Yeasty spice bread, mixed with sugary raisins, dates, and prunes. Heavily brewed cold tea, doughy yeast, T - Sweet malt laced with pepper, cinnamon, brown sugar, and unknown other spices. Prunes start to rise above the other flavors, hints of orange tea come in with a nutty yeast. Finishes with an herbal hop bitterness. M - Medium body, soft carbonation. Not sure what style this fits in. Heavy yeast, some spice bread, and some mild hops make this good for a setting. Not sure I would seek this out though. Serving type: bottle 02-04-2012

pours a dark amber with thin tan head. aroma is very faint. medium body. tastes of toffee, nuts, light coffee and butter (with hints of alcohol). finish is dark malt with some bitterness. I expected more spice in this, but those flavours are almost non-existent. a nice easy-drinking warmer.

The appearance is brown with some red hues and a small off white head that leaves some nice lacing. The smell has some dark fruits and a malty aroma. The taste is the same with some caramel in it and slightly bready with some winter spices and nuttiness. The palate medium with a good carbonation. The finish seemed a bit sticky. Overall, a pretty good beer, easy drinking. I would have this again.
