Geel, troebel bier met flinke schuimkraag die geheel verdwijnt. Aroma van hop en citrus, smaakt fris en licht zurig.

Draught at Brouwer’s Cafe, 11/8/15.
Typical, heavily carbonated blonde-orange beer with good clarity and a large white head that is rocky and slowly fades to cover.
Oranges, lemons, vanilla cake icing and a bit of perfume from the esters. There’s a bit of peach banana, but it’s mostly given over to the dry citrus and light phenolic (clove) interplay.
Sweet up front (vanilla cream) leading to a breadier, citrus-flecked middle and finally ending on a more dry note, replete with clove-like phenols but also very soft pale malt honey notes that are clean and snap off, leaving the beer quite a bit more crisp/dry than I had expected. Granted, there’s still a bit of sharpness in here, it’s slightly on the sweet side and there’s nothing really oustandingly well-done or complex here. But it’s certainly drinkable, with ample carbonation and no heavy banana or bubble gum, thank god. No diacetyl present whatsoever in mine.

Pours a cloudy, dark golden yellow color with straw like hues and a two finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Very good retention with streaks of spotty lacing left behind. A little darker than expected but otherwise looks pretty good. Earthy, musty aroma with a really nice brett character that’s complimented by bready yeast and light fruit esters. Some farmhouse funk with grass, straw and musty bugs followed by bread/yeast and sweeter fruit notes, notably apple, pear, raisin and grape. Decent complexity with a really nice brett component. On the lighter end of medium body with really tight carbonation that’s burst the mouthfeel. Kind of goes along with the musty brett flavor but its over carbonated and a bit too prickly/bubbly for my liking. It’s also not quite as complex as the nose suggests. The brett flavors aren’t as interesting with only slight musty funk. Plenty dry but a bit boring with a floral, perfume flavor mid-palate that’s followed by sweet light fruit esters and alcohol. Again, the light fruit flavors aren’t as interesting as expected with some bread, banana and apple juice. Only 6.5% but there’s a stronger alcohol flavor than I anticipated or wanted. Not bad but the mouthfeel is off and it doesn’t quite live up to the aroma.

Bouteille de 33cl. Couleur jaune pale, léger trouble, mousse assez abondante de tenue très correcte. Arômes de citrons mélangés à de la banane, le goût se rapproche un peu d’ une blanche. Trouvée à Roby - Menin.

Bottled. 33cl sample from local AH. The aroma has citrus, some floral tones, bit grain. Bit hazy, yellow-golden coloured beer with a medium, white head. The taste is light bitter, bit citric, grainy and has earthy yeast. Duvelish. Okay.

Post Borefts VII, Day 2 - Leiden walkabout. Bottle at Lemmy’s. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Ripe generic fruit sweetness. Mild floralness. Minerally crisp finish. Okay.

Light yellow pour, full white head. Nose is bread, spice, soft fruit. Bittersweet. Middle is lemon herbana, over-ripe banana, and wood bark. Finish leaves bitterness on the tongue, not from hops.
