2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer is marketed pretty intensive in Belgium, and with the story behind it,I was expecting something decent. However, the dissapointment was shocking ( ok, maybe a little exagerated). I really did not like the combination of the doughy;very sweet taste together with the sourness. However,in due time I will try it again and update the review.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer tastes a lot like a weissbier, with some citrus aroma and a bit more bitterness. It is nice to drink, but not very special.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Herbal and hoppy aroma with mineral notes. Sweet and fruity flavour with malty notes. Quite refreshing, not cloying like many buckwheat beers

Yeast, fall fruit, cereal flakes, and touch of aged spice .. . Odd name .. Amber and solid foam attributes .. Look a red back! .. . Nice stuff , felt traditional, but a bit boring .. . He’s wanted up state for bangin horses

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Stubby bottle has very pleasant wheat nose with hints of spice and citrus, very much like a wit even if no coriander or spices were used. Pours golden with slow but big carbonation and a soapy large white head. Lightly sweet with lighter bitterness, relatively well attenuated, lemon and orange with faint underlying grain that hasn’t made it all the way to bread, dash of vanilla, pear, touch peppery but quite faintly, very mild clove and banana. Clean medium body but well carbonated, barely tart and quite refreshing, a wonderful pairing of yeast and grist. Hides its alcohol well, has a smooth and malty feel without tipping over into chalkiness. A hint of cereal grain/oat in the finish, for the most part keeps away any trace of slime. I rather like this, and there’s definitely a place for straightforward wheat beers like it: a wit without the spicing, Weizen without the yeast bravado, Widmer-style without the hops, tradition without firm sourness. A simple delight!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.33 l bottle from local Albert Heijn, best before 10/12/2016. Cloudy, golden yellow with a huge, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Fruity-spicy aroma of lemon peel, apricot and vanilla with hints of banana. Sweetish-sourish, fruity-spicy taste of lemon peel, apricot, banana, vanilla and cloves, followed by a medium long, slightly sourish and yeasty finish. Medium body, effervescent and creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very witbier-like, refreshing and nicely balanced brew. More on the spicy than on the fruity side with a lot of foam on your palate. Nice!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light golden, slightly hazy, with a thick white head that dissipates quickly, leaving no lacing. Aroma is Weizen-like: clove and banana, but with a Belgian twist: some peppery, yeasty notes make an appearance. Also some floral notes. Taste: slight cereal, some banana and pepper, also apple. Noticeable acidity and minimal sweetness. Alcohol is detectable. Low bitterness. Very high carbonation, medium body. Not a particularly great beer. There’s nothing above average about it, and the crazy high carbonation + alcohol in the taste disturb a bit. Otherwise, the beer is OK, but just OK.
