Deep reddish orange in color with a little tan head. Sweet cardboardy aroma. Malty caramel notes. Malty and dark fruity flavor. Plums and raisins. Stale caramel notes. Sweet tasting. Medium bodied. Unbalanced beer. Ok. Eyedrinkale (3111), Beer Town, New York, USA Dec 17, 2006 Bottle (best before ’01). Ligoff white head. h brown with red color and a durable off white head. Aroma is a bit oxidized with a sweet maltiness that remiinds me of oatmeal. Taste is more malt with some over ripe tangerine and plums and stale caramel. Time probably did this beer some good as it’s just an okay beer now. I don’t get any Belgian yeast flavor in this as it sort of tastes like a malt liquor (not that I have much experience with them). Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Nov 24, 2006 Deep red copper ale with a thin white head. A nice vinous maderized aroma, with light orange peels, quite nice. In mouth, a rather harsh malt which didnt survive the time (about 1997), varnish, wood, lost a lot of sweetness and body. Sad but inevitable. Shared with the Outaouais Crew, at Old Stock Tasting No. IV, Nov.11 2006. fiulijn (5880), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Apr 11, 2006 Cloudy amber color. Strong malt aroma, mature. Malty taste, strong, sweet, sweet caramel, toffee, not enough bitter, the final has a strong toffee character. Unbalanced.
