Nate (2253), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 15, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Great fruity resinous hop aroma. Grapefruit and orange rind. Spicy and floral, sweet caramel malts. Orange amber clear with foamy lacing off-white head. Medium-heavy watery body with medium carbonation. Grassy fresh hops and bitter from the start, with decent caramel sweetness and graininess. Bitter, albeit smooth, all the way from start to finish. Sharp grapefruit rind and ozone, grassy. Great puckering chalky bitter after.
kmweaver (2120), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Jul 27, 2008 Draft @ Selins Grove. Pours a bright, slightly hazy golden-orange color; off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of resiny, sticky, fruity hops in the aroma; apples, tree fruits, and oily, sweet fruit cocktail; really nice nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: intensely chewy, sticky and resiny fruity hoppiness; no roughness along the edges; relaxed bitterness; generous, great hop character; would bump up a couple points with a bit more carbonation. Lengthy finish: fruity bitterness, bread, and toasty malts. CharlesDarwin (1407), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 20, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Fresh, prickly sweet hop juices flow from this beer. Pines, citrus rinds, and spice all coalesce into a glorious warm glowing hop cone. Dank, dank. Pours a bit opaque in gold-orange, with a rim in white. Flavor is richly textured and flavored, with a great balance of both juicy hop flavor and hop bitterness. Combines into that glorious bready grapefruit and sends off a lot of rich caribbean and Indian spice notes. Great hop use. The malt background develops a nice sweetness for balance. Alcohol lends to rising the hops, but it’s not overwhelming. Excellent balance, hop use and finish. Delightful. redlight (1055), Winter Park, Florida, USA May 10, 2008 Citrus, musty, alittle catty, with hints of GANJA! Pours golden amber. Bitter, very bitter, pine resin (feels heavy) sweet malts in the background. Finishes a little bready. Great IPA. JMFG (1173), Florida, USA May 6, 2008 Sampled from growler, courtesy Beerlando. Clear copper-orange with a thin white head. Strong grassy hop aroma with some minor citrus notes. Moderate hop character throughout the taste, nice peppery finish. Clean and aggressive IPA. Well done. willblake (1942), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA Apr 26, 2008 20061216 Juicy fruit and sweet aromas. Flavor is not so sweet, but not dry. Medium to light body. Smells great still but has a lazy quality about it (?).
