Commercial Description:
Our Shade Mountain Oatmeal Stout infused during brewing with the Kind Cafe's freshly brewed Grizzly blend coffee. YUM! And yes, this does contain caffeine!

Multiple pints, at brewpub. Pours a dark mahogany brown under a small one finger creamy brown nitro head. Sheets of clingy lacing. Deep fresh roasted coffee fills the nose with some chocolate and cream notes. This smells more like a freshly brewed cup of joe more than beer, I can tell I will like this. The flavor is just as much coffee as Stout, and that’s awesome. A little nutty and black patent malt on the finish. I love that there is a very low apparant bitterness and there’s no astringency present from the coffee or malt. Very well extracted coffee. Mouthfeel is par for the course for a nitro Stout, medium bodied and very easy to take big gulps. An excellent coffee beer. Not quite as great all-around as Ottos Sumatra Stout, but right up there. I may have a new favorite from Selins Grove! I wish that this was a regular beer for them, hopefully we’ll see this a little more often.

Very good coffee stout. I had this at Selin’s Grove and was blown about. The aroma was excellent. Malty, chocolate, coffee. The aroma lets you know what you are getting into. Poured black with minimal light passing through. Flavor was out of this world...if you like coffee. Tons of coffee in the flavor. The beer was a little light on the palate, but overall it is such a drinkable beer. Really the kind of beer that could get you in trouble. I only wish Selin’s Grove wasn’t a three plus hour drive from my house.

Had this at the HBF. Very good beer. HUGE aroma of coffee, with malt, chocolate, and nuts. Tastes malty, with tons of coffee, some chocolate, and a roasty finish. One of the best beers at the HBF, in my opinion.

HBF- This was by far my favorite and most intrigueing beer of the entire festival. Everyone around me was talking about it as I waited on line to try it on tap. Pours a pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma is pure roasted coffee- as was the flavor. Very nice medium bodied beer and easy to drink. Im not a huge coffee drinker- yet I could drink this beer all day. It was like drinking one of those iced coffees more than a coffee stout. This blows away any other stout trying to appeal to coffe lovers or roasted barley/chocolate malt lovers. Chicory stout has nothing on this beer. I need the recipe for this so I can brew it for myself. So cool that this stuff has caffeine!! Kinda like Buzz Beer from the Drew Carey Show- haha.

Draft Harrisburg Brewer’s Fest. Now this is a beer. Nice roasty smell all the way through. Good coffe flavor which wasn’t overpowering.
