A: Deep orange-amber body. Creamy, two-finger off-white head. Good retention and solid sheet-like lacing. S: Aggressive citrus notes. Orange, lemon, and grapefruit. Floral/pine undercurrent. Caramel base is detectable throughout. T: Similar to the nose, there is a fair bit of citrus here. Getting more grapefruit here than in the nose. Not overwhelmingly bitter, but pushing the bounds of IPA into dIPA territory. The herbal/floral/pine hop notes contribute a tea-like character. M: Smooth. Creamy. Medium bodied. Fantastic, moderate bitterness finish that fully engulfs the mouth. O: Top notch. Selin’s Grove is a three hour drive for me, making sure this is on tap is a must for me before I make the trek out there. I always get a growler fill to go.

Big thanks to chase2634 for this. Poured into a pint glass. 3.0 A: This isn’t the best looking IPA I’ve seen. That much I’m sure of. Deeply hazed orange amber color. About two fingers of white, foamy head that falls quickly and leaves small touches of lacing. 5.0 S: This might be one of the best smelling IPAs though. Jam packed with flowery and citrusy hops. Megatons of mango foremost, followed by pineapple, papaya, and maybe some orange. Behind that there is grapefruit and pine. Lastly, this has a strong sugary aroma in there. Despite the color and cloudiness, the malt and yeastiness are really faint. Just a touch of breadiness from them. Really intense and really pleasant. 4.5 T: Taste is much like the nose. Incredible amounts of pineapple, mango, and papaya. Cake icing, grapefruit, orange, and pine. Again, really intense flavors. The malts come through more this time. Slightly biscuity and bready from the yeast. Moderate caramel sweetness and some peachy fruitiness from there. I really like this, but I’d prefer if the yeast were a bit cleaner. 4.0 M: Medium body. Good carbonation, especially for a growler. Reasonably creamy, though I could go for a bit more in lieu of the slight chewiness it has. Otherwise, smooth. 4.5 D: This beer doesn’t fool around with the hops. That’s probably why it’s so highly ranked. Can’t say I don’t love it either. Worth seeking out. Coming from California, I wasn’t expecting much as far as IPA’s are concerned, but this one was quite enjoyable. It pours golden orange with an off white head. The aroma is very nice with tropical fruit, peach, pineapple, and some flowery hops. The flavor is potent and full bodied with peach, pine, florals, (spruce?) Nice complex evergreen finish. This one would do quite well against the best West Coast IPA’s out there. Well done.

I have had this beer lots of times now and it remains in my top 3 IPA’s of all time. Served on-tap at the Selin’s Grove Brewpub into a pint glass. A - Pours hazy orange with a nice creamy one finger tall white head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving light lacing down the glass. S - Smells of bright citric hops, pine resin, tropical fruits; most notably grapefruit; and sweet caramel malt. Good balance overall all things considered. An absolute hop bomb. T - Tons of bright citric hops up front giving way slowly to a mix of tropical fruits and sweet caramel malt. The hops are strong but not to the point of being overpowering and the other flavors offer just enough contrast to keep it in balance. The finish has plenty of hop bitterness, lingering for some time. One of my all time favorites, grab some if you can. M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Creamy feel with plenty of lingering hop bitterness in the finish. The alcohol creeps in a tiny bit toward the end but it isn’t a big deal. O - Very high. One of my all time favorite IPA’s. When he started to tweak the recipe about a year or so ago it went down hill a tiny bit but ever since he went back to the original it is better than ever. One of the best for sure.

The IPA pours crisp amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, hoppy, and a bit syrupy. The flavor is smooth with some pleasant sweet perfumey hops that get stronger on the palate and then settle nicely with notes of banana.

Growler, huge thanks to orangesol for this. Not a great appearance, hazy golden-amber with a small whitish head. Pretty nice aroma, with nice light fruits, maybe some oakiness oddly enough. Not super hoppy but good nonetheless. The flavor also tastes a bit faded, but it’s actually very good still. Nice blend of malts, with some caramel, but it’s tough to pinpoint everything. Nice stone fruits, oak, and white peach. Medium hoppiness, but I’m telling you, I still like it. Medium-bodied and pretty refreshing even. Hop oils are not too big, but it’s almost a little tannic. This is by no means like a west coast IPA, a least from the growler, but I still like it a lot.

Draft at brewpub. Nice dry herbal ipa. Hops dominate the aroma and tongue. Notes of pine, basil, and mint. Lightly fruity with hints onion. Bitter grassy finish

On draft at the brew pub; Nice creamy head with loads of piney citrusy hop aroma. The lacing made a beautiful etching-like abstraction of the Susquehanna River and surrounding mountains on the glass. The amber malty base was the perfect canvas for the colorful blend of bright clean hop flavors which echoed the intoxicating aroma.
