COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditionally made strong & highly hopped so it would keep on its long journey, from England to India during British rule. Ours is a wonderfully bitter beer with a spicy aroma, some fruity characteristics and a lingering hop finish. A great aperitif!

Hazy light amber with a thick head. Bright hop aroma with hints of wood, nice citrus. Smells awesome. Dry, pithy, herbal with just a hint of almost fruity sweetness. Really nice example.

Growler acquired in trade from kramer17801 (as part of the Mystery Beer Swap v2) thanks!. Poured a deeper and hazy golden amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, and light caramel. Oddly enough, the aroma reminded me of a tuna sushi hand roll (not sure why that came to mind, hmmm, I’ll have to go get some sushi tomorrow - could be, I’m just hungry and love sushi). Tastes of pine, citrus (oranges), caramel, and had a grapefruit bitter finish.

Pale orange pour. The nose is quite sweet and estery. A bit of soft fruit and some cherry esters. Sort of a sticky sweetness with a light fruity hop character. Bitterness is quite light with just a touch of resinous character on the back. Lightly peachy. Meh – not my kind of IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2010 Hand-bottle sampled on 1/10/07: Pours a slightly hazy copper bronze with a lightly wispy white head. Aroma of sweet pale caramely malt with a ton of big, fresh citrusy grapefruity hops. Body starts with some lightly toasty pale malty flavor turning more bittersweet toward a slightly green, grapefruity hoppy finish. A nice IPA.

On tap at the brewpub on 7/25/08: Clear orange amber with a full-lacing white head. Has a big citrusy grapefruity and sweet toasty crystal malty nose. Starts with good fullness but still quite drinkable with great resiny citrus hoppy flavor and sweet malt balance. A very nice IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2011 CO2 and cask tried on separate visits. Has a magnificent cloudy orange haze from the tap. Crisp and frothy, dank, bitter, dry, really wonderful in all aspects. Spicy pine needles invite the nose, fresh dryhopped crisp juiciness lingers on the tongue. Pungent and dank, with fresh crisp citrus and melon. Near perfect IPA.

On tap at the brewpub. Orange-grapefruit colour with lace sheets. Wonderful aroma of orange and grapefruit fresh juice. Well malted, understated carbonation. Taste is orange and grapefruit. A long finish. Soft mouthfeel, typically easy to drink Selin Grove.

Tasted at Jupiter beerfest. This was actually quite good! Orange pour wtih a nice head. Aroma is full of citrus hops. I get lots of different citrus, grapefruit, lemon and calamondin. Flavor has a great hop bite full of grapefruit peel and some nice malts to finish this one off...yum.
