COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Roasted barley is the trademark of stout, a bittersweet separation from its cousin Porter. Our deep black stout is made with a grist containing 15% organic oatmeal to create its remarkable silky texture.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2007 Growler. Pours almost still with aroma of roasted chocolate. Not sweet at all, as the oatmeal makes it plenty dry. A bit thin on the palate.

Draft, Selin’s Grove Brewing Co. Pours a dark, brownish-black color; thin, light tan head. Plenty of roasted malts and milk chocolate in the aroma; softly roasted with a hint of mint coming through. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: plenty of milk chocolate, roasted malts, and a slight, oily nuttiness; dense, toasty oatmeal stout with a chocolatey core; soft roastiness. Medium, milk chocolate and roasted malt finish.

kramer (3873) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 9, 2005
Tap at brewpub. Black pour with a thick creamy light brown head (on nitro BTW). Roasty burnt toast malt aroma. Nice roasted malt flavor with tons of coffee in the finish. Silky smooth mouthfeel from the nitro, like slipping into bed naked with quality silk sheets. The addition of oats adds a little body. Overall, a good true-to-style nitro Irish Stout. Shame there’s no way to get this to go.

On tap at the brewpub, poured black with a nice tan head. There was a watery feel to this beer and it did not seemed very well balanced.

for a stout i thoguht this was thin and lacking in taste. It looked really good but beyond that there wasnt’ much to it. perhaps i got a bad batch. If i’m ever up in selinsgrove i’ll have to try again.
